There's two types of mashups I look for. The supermash, at least that's what I call it, is a grip of samples sewn together to make one seamless flow of musical goodness. The other, is around two or so tracks placed so well on top of one another that it sounds better than its original. I especially love when it takes vocals to a completely different style & genre. Despite having been absent from the public eye for much of the last several years, Lauryn Hill is still a musical treasure of our generation. Her effortless command of the mic is unique and exceptional. On the Fugee's tracks, there was no question of who the standout was. Lauryn dominated. Wick-It The Instigator is a Dj/Producer out of Nashville Tennessee that has recently caught my eye with his funky electronic beats coupled with genius sampling. Wide Open starts off showcasing Wick-It's talent for sampling with a nice vocal sampling from Pink Floyd.
