B List: Just The Guitarists And Only The Guitarists

B List: Just The Guitarists And Only The Guitarists For this week's B List we found ten videos on YouTube featuring just the guitar players from some of our favorite bands without any accompaniment. When we sat down to put this together, we thought it would be easier to find clips of just the axe-slingers in action without anyone else but it didn't work out that way. Thankfully, after a few hours of digging, we did find ten gems worth sharing. 1. Al Schnier and Chuck Garvey of moe. - Summer Camp Guitar Clinic [...]

Hidden Track Giveaway: Widespread Panic @ Williamsburg Waterfront

Hidden Track Giveaway: Widespread Panic @ Williamsburg Waterfront If you're a Widespread Panic fan in New York City, you generally only get one chance a year to see the HT faves play in the Big Apple and it's usually at an indoor venue. In fact, Panic hasn't played an outdoor show within city limits since a Central Park SummerStage gig in 2000. That will change on Saturday night, when the Georgia Music Hall of Famers will take the stage at the Williamsburg Waterfront in Brooklyn. Widespread Panic are currently celebrating 25 years together and [...]

LMB NYC: This Week's Concert Calendar – Sept 13 – 19

LMB NYC: This Week's Concert Calendar – Sept 13 – 19 the dodos | photo by whitperson This is another one of those week's of live music in NYC that requires some serious skills with scheduling and logistics. There are a ton of great shows and there's just not enough time, energy, and cash flow to take them all in. Since I'm still out of pocket, and there's so much to choose from, I'm foregoing my normal highlight reel and just going with the entire list. Call me a slacker if you will, but given all these options, I think I'm mainly just indecisive... [...]

Cover Wars: For What It's Worth (Buffalo Springfield)

Cover Wars: For What It's Worth (Buffalo Springfield) Though often thought of a war protest song, For What It's Worth was written by Stephen Stills in reference to the riots over curfew laws in Los Angeles. It was released on the 1967 self-titled Buffalo Springfield album. There were no shortage of covers this week and the best ones tended to lean towards the soul side of the equation - have a listen below. Widespread Panic – The Wiltern – 7/14/11 – Photos, Videos, Set List & Review Widespread Panic @ The Wiltern 7/15/11 - Photo © Wesley Hodges Karma-Gettin' Having never seen Widespread Panic west of the great city of New Orleans over the course of the last decade, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect from the crowd inside the beautiful Wiltern on the uneasy eve of the overhyped Carmageddon (hype in LA, shocker), and whether this alteration in my longitudinal center(s)-of-gravity would translate into a profoundly different musical experience. The crowd, much to my surprise, [...]
