Our thoughts and best wishes go out to Will Hoge . The Nashville singer-songwriter, who frequently plays in St. Louis, was injured in a car accident last Wednesday. Hoge had just left the studio where he was recording a new album, and was struck by a vehicle which "failed to yield while turning." A post on his official website last Friday says his condition was upgraded to stable from critical. -- Annie Zaleski
I just heard this news . Will Hoge is in critical condition after getting in a scooter accident in Nashville on Wednesday. According to my grapevine ( Mike Winger ), Hoge broke both collar bones, his femur, his knee and his ribs. Luckily no internal damage or head injury. We wish him a full recovery. Probably not an appropriate video for the occasion, but "Highway's Home" is one of my favorite Hoge songs. Will Hoge - Highway's Home http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =IqSNSGhvyx0 Will Hoge - [...]

Back in the late '90s, early '00s, Rkyo tinted their CD gases green. This made it SUPER EASY to find good music in music stores. Whenever you spied a green case, bingo – good music. Fast-forward to 2008 where digital music is king. No more green cases. In fact, you don't even need cases anymore. But Ryko is still putting out good music. Here are 8 songs from the 2008 Ryko catalog broken down into = Band ~ Website ~ Album Title ~ Genre (using food as a metaphor) ~ [...]

I don't know if it's bcause I've been sick all week, or that I'm just getting soft in my old age, but I somehow (mostly) got over my bitter disposition on this manufactured holiday and put together a mid-week mix of LOVE . The only qualifiers for this mix was that the song or artists had "love" in the name, and that the song was good. So, it's not all kisses and roses here- the whole thing starts off with the remix of A Fine Frenzy's farewell tune Almost Love r , includes Atlanta's Novah making some [...]

It's a slow, gloomy midweek day, and I've got nothing else for ya, so i present: A random Wednesday mix for you, inspired by a friend's stumbing upon the number of songs with honorifics in the titles. Random Wednesday Honorifics Mix: Counting Crows - Mr. Jones (acoustic) The Killers - Mr. Brightside (acoustic) Marvelous 3 - Mrs. Jackson Simon & Garfunkel - [...]
I've always held a special place in my heart for boys that make noise. There's something alluring and endearing about a man who can share himself in song. Here are tracks from the seventeen (plus one) troubadours that got me twitterpated in 2007… Fionn Regan - "Be Good or Be Gone" Landon Pigg - "Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop" Joshua James - "You're the Cocaine" Eric Hutchinson - "Ok,
I have a deep and abiding love for Will Hoge. My love affair started in the late 90's when Will fronted a band called Spoonful and released an album called Tales Begin to Spin that I still don't know how I came to own and that I cannot for the life of me find at the moment. After just one listen I was infatuated with the sound of his voice and I've been following his solo career ever since.
I wrote about Will Hoge a long time ago. I liked this unkempt demo of his called "Baby Girl" that was circulating at the time. I don't follow his career and have no idea what trajectory he's currently on, but my interest was once again piqued when his new song "Dirty Little War" surfaced. Encouraged by the title and hoping for an anti-war, anti-bush anthem I got the free download via his site. I was slightly disappointed when the "dirty little war" of the title was not in reference to Iraq but instead of his [...]
