We know you lost sleep over the course of last month, waiting patiently, racking your brain to see what we could possibly list as our favorite albums of 2011. We lost sleep too, compulsively checking our lists twice and perhaps after a fist fight or two, we settled on 25 firm choices. After all, who listens to as much music as us? Who actually has time to listen to put together a valid top 25 list with no filler? We're fairly certain that most other sites don't include at least a handful of the albums listed on none other [...]

Former mental health therapist turned songwriter William Fitzsimmons is a superb musician and lyricist - his music ranges from the stark and acoustic to the voluminous and electronic, but irrespective of the style or approach his songs are accessible, poignant, thought-provoking and rich in imagery and message. Last year's critically acclaimed fourth album, Gold In the Shadow , has now been released as a Deluxe version, which includes 14 bonus tracks featuring 3 previously unavailable recordings, including a new acoustic version of Let You Break . Similar to Delta Spirit (see last [...]
Watch Chris Carrabba (Dashboard Confessional), David Bazan (Pedro the Lion), William Fitzsimmons, Noah and Abby Gundersen (The Courage), and Mariah McManus perform Bob Dylan and the Band's 'I Shall Be Released' for To Write Love on Her Arms.

In what was certainly the pinnacle of TWLOHA's Heavy and Light 2012 , Chris Carrabba, David Bazan, William Fitzsimmons, Mariah McManus, Noah Gundersen, and Abby Gundersen cover Bob Dylan's "I Shall Be Released".

Introducing JacM , a new dubstep/chillstep producer who has had a lot of love from his William Fitzsimmons remixes. Only got the chance to listen to them today but damn I can see why. William Fitzsimmons - The Tide Pulls from the Moon (JacM Chillstep Remix) William Fitzsimmons - Beautiful Girl (JacM Remix)

I believe strongly in the work that Two Write Love On Her Arms does. I also believe in my love for William Fitzsimmons, Chris Carrabba (Dashboard Confessional) and David Bazan (Pedro The Lion). Together, they make up the 2012 edition of Heavy and Light, TWLOHA's annual benefit concert. I'll be there, and if you live in Orlando (or anywhere in the area - I'll be driving the 90ish miles from Tampa), it would be great if you would come, too. There are still tickets available for a mere $24 (no service charge).

Each of our writers who posted this year worked tirelessly to cover bands that normally don't appear on your FM radio stations, and in the true spirit of the season, here are their lists. All albums are linked to iTunes. To play all Soundcloud clips continuously, click on the play button in the bottom right of the screen. TOP 10 ALBUMS 10. Fleet Foxes – Helplessness Blues 9. [...]

Vaya tontería, ¿no?

With the horizon of a new year seemingly inches away, we're proud to present our best songs of 2011. We have been slaving over albums and hidden tracks for the past month, but now the beginning of our five-part list of the best of the best. 50. The Airborne Toxic Event - Half of Something Else Very similar to 20082s "Sometime Around Midnight", TATE is back with a similar formula and not a bad album either. I guess if you've got the chemistry down, why change it? 49. Radiohead [...]

As our list continues, we not only were able to find some of the best songs this year, but were floored with some new discoveries as well as some returning ones. Enjoy our Top 100 Songs of 2011 as our list continues. 75. Germany Germany - Intro IV (Order/Disorder) Crisp loops and melodies were easy to swallow here. Germany Germany's 2011 album, Adventures , was certainly that. This whole album showed much promise and replayability throughout 2011. 74. The Pear Traps - Home As simple [...]

If you thought last week was slim pickins' then get a load of this week. Actually don't, just chill out till next year. Unless you want to buy that Rush DVD and burn it and send me the video... I will totally post it and send you something cool in return. Like a print of Win Butler's I took from underneath his crotch , how does that grab you? Common: The Dreamer, The Believer Conan O'Brien and the Legally Prohibited Band: [...]

I have been so blessed this past year in all aspects of my life. I graduated this past June from the University of Toronto with an Honours B.A. I interned at one of Toronto's most prestigious indie labels, Dine Alone Records. I had the opportunity to attend and provide media coverage for CMF 2011 and NXNE 2011. I created a Casting Call video for Much Music which I am so very proud of. It's been a great year - its truly been eye-opening and has resulted in a lot of personal development. I am so thankful to be surrounded by [...]

Mij schiet eigenlijk alleen This Charming Man door Stars te binnen.

One of the best folk shows I attended this past year was William Fitzsimmons' show at Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern. I also had the chance to sit in on an interview with him, which was conducted by my friend, Zal. Check out my review of the show HERE and the previously mentioned interview HERE ! I am so excited to share with everyone that William Fitzsimmons will be embarking on a two month long North American tour starting in Ann Arbor on February 9th. He is currently finishing up the calendar year [...]
William Fitzsimmons. Three times in the last three and a half years, I've posted about William Fitzsimmons - from the folktronica , to the folk , and back to his using his tronic-making device again . Last Monday, I had the absolute and utter pleasure of seeing William live here in Dublin, in a tiny venue of a couple of hundred people. Looking like a lumberjack who had taken a wrong turn somewhere, he played a couple of songs, showing himself to be one of those artists sounding better live than even [...]
