Snow Patrol have added two more dates to their forthcoming European and German tour. The band are now set to play a show in Stockholm in Sweden on the 18th and Vienna in Austria on the 26th of May. To celebrate the forthcoming tour we are giving away an autographed poster by the band. If you ask me, and i am being totally baised again, Bill Maher's fantastical documentary "Religulous" should have been at least nominated for the oscars. The Academy Awards are known for being a little light on liberalism (Paradise Now's loss) and high on pomp (Heath Ledger winning). The documentary was unlike any other and it deserved some kudos, especially for such a crucial subject rarely visited. It's out now on DVD, so go get it .

The Reader was a remarkable movie and I am glad she got it.

Penelope Cruz just won the Best Supporting Actress oscar for her role in Vicky Christina Barcelona. She spoke in Spanish partially and she looked stellar. I thought the character was great but I doubted that it would win, even if it deserved, just because it was a romantic comedy role.

Finally, the girls get the recognition they deserve. What a lovely performance introduced by, none other than the real queen of pop, Kylie Minogue. On top of that they got their first Brit for "The Promise." Everyone was amazed they beat Coldplay, I wasn't. They're like U2, their fans are so defense about that that they can't do wrong. We just got back from Finland where the annual Spinefeast At Sea was taking place. You won't believe how bad our hangovers are. Still. (Until you see them on the three-part video we've made, of course). Most importantly, we nicked a whole load of swag from the Spinefarm Records HQ while we were in snowy Finland. We've stuck a bunch of CDs, a heavy metal (plastic) frisbee, a Rotten Sound t-shirt and some signed posters in a goody bag and YOU could win it. That frisbee will be fun in a few months. [...]

With all the hype surrounding it and the fact that M.I.A. is heavily featured on the soundtrack, I had to check the movie out from the same director that gave us Trainspotting, 28 Days Later and Millions . The movie is a slice of freshness from a perspective rarely voiced in mainstream cinema. This 15 million dollar budgeted flick follows Jamal Malik's entire young life while splicing How Wants To Be A Millionaire questions between events. Grammy Season is approaching and after we looked at the list of this year's nominees we've made our selections as to who we think should win. I for one have lost all of my respect for the Grammys after the Black Eyed Peas won last year's "Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal" with "My Humps". Still, we'll probably watch and you just might too. Here are some of the nominees and our choices.
