Absent Fever - Exquisite Corpse After a few months of organizing and production, Absent Fever has released a collaboration under a theme beyond belief. The collab includes a gripping connection between 7 artists from the AF family including Kynan, Gracie, Birkwin Jersey, Wonder Bear, Ra Cailum, Galapagos, and Guerre. Each artist takes part, lending their imagination while deeply composing a momentous minute for the 7 minute track. Accompanying the soundscape is a film by Library Voices and artwork by Brian Vu. Absent Fever couldn't describe it any better: [...]
Absent Fever // Exquisite Corpse What can only be properly described it's curators Tyler and Eloise have drummed up a neat project that features some of their finest artists on their label roster. Composed by impulse and the stream of consciousness, seven juxtaposed artists came in union to create one collective vision; distinct and furthermore one. Seven of the Absent Fever artists collaborated to create one 7 minute song. Each was given only the previous artists 1 minute to base their 1 minute off of, and was told to [...]

image by Brad Rohloff Take one 20 year old African American male named Tyler; a college student and Chicago resident. Place Tyler with a 16 year old Caucasian female named Eloise; a high-school student and Los Angeles resident. Integrate the two into a community of like minded people, all who are in this community solely because of a common creative interest. Allow them to recognize that this isn't some strange social experiment or even strange at all, it's merely the product of their generation, it's the internet. And thus, Absent Fever is born. [...]

I don't know much about New York's Wonder Bear , other than the fact that their songs are more abstract soundscapes than, you know, actual 4/4 pop jams. While they remind me a lot of early High Places , the band also manages to combine Mountain Man harmonies with early Animal Collective sampling pastiche. Although their latest EP isn't something you'll play at your next rooftop BBQ, the tracks on Avalanche should serve you well during your next lonely night in. You can download the [...]

At first I was kind of like... meh.. really.. really New York? ,but duo Wonder Bear's (must.. resist urge..to talk..about bears for three paragraphs.. hahahah) newest release Avalanche grew on me. It is arty and ambient ...minimalisitic and reverbed..and really really fantastique. V079 might the most beautiful track I have heard all year... strap on some Sennheisers and get ready for the hairs on your arms to stand up! So, if you can, pause Iceage and give it a whirl and see if she dances for you! You can download it free aqui [...]

Wonder Bear - Reverend On June 6th, Absent Fever (the lovely label curated by Tyler Andere of Flashlight Tag and Eloise Hess of verb/re/verb ) will be releasing the new album Avalanche by the young New York duo known as Wonder Bear, comprised of Ben Klein (instrumentation and production) and Daisy Korpics (vocals and lyrics). In their chilling song "Reverend" the duo use a flurry of layers of gentle electronics and Daisy's youthfully sincere voice to bring to mind the image of being out on a car ride on a cold [...]

Last Friday, verb/re/verb curated a YOUTH mixtape of teenage artists covering songs that shaped their childhoods not long past. The first track, by Teenage Reverb, is a wordless Backstreet Boys cover. Their take on "Get Down" matches neither the emotional tone, the tempo nor the chord progression, really, of the original. Instead, the Boys' opening [...]

Wonder Bear = Runaway (Kanye West Cover) I was first introduced to Wonder Bear through the mixtape that keeps growing on me, Open Minds VOL 2 by the awesome Flashlight Tag . From here, my interest was peaked and I started delving into their other stuff. There's the highly recommended Azul EP , which is a little more naturalistic. Simple yet poignant tracks developed carefully and extremely enjoyable. Then there is the [...]

I got an email that simply said, "we're two sixteen year olds from NY. our names are ben and daisy. we make pop music". I can't tell you how much I love emails like that. And, excuse me? 16 year olds? What the hell was I doing at 16? I wasn't making pop music, I was hanging out outside movie theatres and dyeing my hair awful colours. That's what I was doing. Right when I heard Wonder Bear 's stuff I was so impressed. The female vocals floating above sparkling synth that creates something of a mystical [...]
