These live-videos took my breath away today, so I just have to show them to you. It's the Japanese artist Wool Strings , who have participated on our EardrumsPop compilations a couple of times, both as Wool Strings and as the collaboration Seasel. His beautiful music seems to be even stronger live. "Shirley Poppy" was on "A Good Crop" (free download here ), and the live-version is quite different and very upbeat. Here are two more videos from the same concert. Wool Strings' music is available to buy from his myspace page, [...]

As a punk kid who grew into an awkward 20-something too-cute-to-be-hot ambitionless singer in a band, I know where my roots lie. They lie in Joan Jett, eurodisco, and TWEE POP. And there hasn't really been much coming from the once prosperous genre. UNTIL NOW. Ladies and gentlemen, I have stumbled across Eardrums Pop , a fine digital label focusing on twee and indie pop bands from around the world. They also release only compilations it seems. I am still downloading this myself, but I am 100% sure that I can recommend it unheard , and especially since it is free, you have nothing to lose. Wool Strings has never disappointed me yet. This is a one-man project from Japan, and listeners of our Eardrums compilations will probably recognize him from "A Good Crop". Both of his EPs and his album is high quality, so I recommend you to check them out too. You can buy them on cdbaby.com or listen on Spotify . Well, I'm [...]

Today's artist is one I have great respect for. The Japanese one-man orchestra Wool Strings is Ryohei Ameda, a man who constantly is on the search for new ways to express himself musically. Those of you who downloaded our compilation "A Good Crop" may already have heard the beautiful "Shirley Poppy" from Wool Strings. Wool Strings have so far self-released two brilliant EPs, "the Tree Gate EP" and the new "Picture in the night" , both available from Wool Strings' myspace. Wool Strings' music moves back and [...]
