The World Unite Lucifer Youth Foundation truly embrace their concept in their new video for "We Bros, easily the strongest track off the record. The children have to escape all the evils and demons of the world, and enjoy the little time they have left to enjoy all thie shit that everyone tells us is wrong. The reveal at the end will help explain a little bit what these kids are running from. I would say for sure that the mystery and intrigue of Wu Lyf has greatly grown on me. Buy Go Tell Fire [...]

The continuing saga of Manchester's WU LYF and their exacting phenomenon of a 2011 release, Go Tell Fire to the Mountain , is one that I'm following with less casual interest and more excitement as the year progresses. This video for the song "WE BROS", directed by Sam Pilling , doesn't reveal itself until the end. You should, of course, watch it all the way through.

With a Q Award under their belt, as well as one of the finest albums of the year, Mancunian quartet WU LYF are rounding off the year by releasing a new single from their critically acclaimed debut record. We Bros comes with remixes from tour mates S. Mahabra and Young Montana? alongside a brand new video. Directed by Sam Pilling , the five minute clip documents the now infamous WU LYF spirit of freedom, equality and uncensored expressionism. Following a group of youths breaking free from the shackles of [...]
For those of you who tuned in to Huw Stephen's bizarre interview with elusive Manchester based outfit WU LYF , you may have heard them select a track by a certain Francis Lung to feature on the show. Again, in typical World Unite tradition, they revealed little else about Brooklyn Girls, however a bit of digging reveals that Francis Lung is the pseudonym of Tom McClung , the groups bassist. Gone are the rasping, confrontational vocals of Ellery Roberts , instead replaced by the mournful tones of [...]

Tweet Buy the album from Amazon - Vinyl | MP3 I've only recently come into contact with World Unite! Lucifer Youth Foundation, or "Woo Life" as their Wikipedia page says it can be pronounced. They're one of the bands that sort of slipped through the cracks for me as other parts of my life got very busy. To that end, I'm very grateful, because by complete luck, bypassing the hype for [...]

Few bands generate anywhere near as much hype as unconventional Mancunian quartet Wu Lyf, and even fewer completely ignore it once it's been thrust upon them. From refusing high-profile interview requests, providing misleading photographs and allegedly neglecting the advances of several major labels; numerous opinions have been aired over whether Wu Lyf are either a marketing sensation or truly the emancipated kids that they claim. Either way, they've caused a noticeable stir. With their debut album Go Tell Fire To The Mountain, they have a fantastic opportunity to prove that they are more than just a PR gimmick. [...]
WU LYF's new record, Go Tell Fire To The Mountain, is better than what others may lead you to believe. It's lush, heavy and certainly anthemic. Songs like "Dirt" [posted above] bring the energy to a forefront while others compliment it well with looming organs and cymbals rings. My only disappointment is that I've heard these songs in other reincarnations of early demos - and even though they sound much better and fuller, there's an empty spot where I wish they had instead recorded all fresh material. But again, as far as the songs themselves - this shit [...]

Tweet WU LYF (World Unite Lucifer Youth Foundation) have been around for a couple of years, releasing demos and songs as a mysterious outfit, bypassing the normal (in these days) methods of blogs and labels and PR firms to promote themselves, then as interest grew in this group of Mancunians, interest came from each of those sources whether they wanted it to or not. Their brand of gravelly-Indie-Lo-Fi Rock has seen them go from "who the fuck are these guys?", to "these guys are [...]

With their debut album set to be released at the start of next month, Manchester psychedelic influenced outfit Wu Lyf have dropped a teaser video featuring another new track, in the form of Dirt. The video is comprised of shots from the recent student protests in London, all captured by Fil Kaler, and makes for a poignant and fitting accompaniment. Dirt continues in a similar vein to previous Wu Lyf material; driven by a demanding drum beat, underpinned by a melancholic organ whilst the bizarrely delivered vocals rage viciously throughout the track. The lyrics self promote their upcoming full length [...]

artwork by Michael Page Hello Lovelies! Just wanted to share a song that I've had on repeat all weekend by awesome band WU LYF . Waddupwiddit? Been oot and aboot frozen in carbonite(seriously Wisconsin winters are as fun as reading drunk) for a hot second but I figgered it was high time the Wiz dropped a mix tape. A little bit more then a lot jazzed to be back in the coop! At least until INS tracks me down... hahaha but seriously... shhh! mums the word aye?.. er I mean.. ok? I am not even going to banter about the state of the world atm since I last was here, but basically I wouldn't be surprised to hear invisible C.H.U.D.S have over run [...]
![[ViDEO] WU LYF – L Y F](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3324224_lg.jpg)
Manchester's WU LYF have developed a moniker that stands for World Unite Lucifer Youth Foundation. I first heard about them last January from Veronica at CreamTeam . While I've been looking the other way, WU LYF have been blowing up huge, and with good reason. Here is their latest video for the song "L Y F" from their forthcoming debut album Go Tell Fire To The Mountain due 13 June 2011. If you're going to watch this, watch ALL THE WAY TO THE END. Trust me: it's worth [...]

WU LYF is everyone. Consider this post part three ( I , II ) of an ongoing series where I play internet hide & seek with Manchester band WU LYF . Over the weekend I received a mysterious private dump of a couple more WU LYF demo tracks via SoundCloud. The sender appears to be UK-based, but as to whether this was the band themselves reaching out, remains to be confirmed. The two tracks, which you can listen to below, revealed yet another pre-WU LYF band name, Vagina Wolf . [...]

(Via GvsB - Pigeon Post - Cream Team Tv - ...) [MP3] WU LYF - Heavy Pop [MP3] WU LYF - Concrete Gold
Info on Manchester's WU LYF is scant, and it's assuredly deliberate. WU LYF stands for World Unite/Lucifer Youth Foundation , and despite the suggested associations of their abbreviated name, they have nothing to do with the Wu-Tang Clan . The under-the-radar quartet (?) play the shows you probably didn't attend, like last October's In The City fest (alongside Wild Palms ). I'm a little over these bands who obscure themselves for the sake of appearing interesting, but WU LYF's sound is nonetheless ear-catching. They only have one track out, recorded in [...]

let's start off with what I know about Wu Lyf. They played the In The City showcase. They have a facebook page, on which I am classed as a friend as well as Jack and the Free Trees alumni George Haydock. They have a myspace page which features very little and give almost nothing away and, upon fuirther inspection, only seems to have a picture of one person - Greta, swinging on a railing. They also have a tumblr, which has a link to the one and only song they seem to have streaming online. Justifying the 'WU LYF PLAY [...]
