Almost a year later Melbourne outfit World's End Press has released new material, the outfits latest single 'Second Day Uptown' was produced by Dan Whitford (of Cut Copy) and sounds like it could be tearing up a few Summer festivals as well. Expect the bands debut project to see release sometime later this year, in the meantime this little lovely should keep you grooving until then. World's End Press - Second Day Uptown
Whilst down under earlier this year I had the great joy in interviewing the WORLD'S END PRESS where they chatted about the recording of their debut album which includes production duties by the CUT COPY's DAN WHITFORD. Now the Melbournian synth-poppers have now been kind enough to share their infectious new single, SECOND DAY UPTOWN , one of many toons produced by the CUT COPY fella, which I'm tots digging. Yep.
Finally. We've been waiting for new WEP material in what feels like ages, and it doesn't disappoint. Every time I've seen these guys play it's been amazing. One night stick in my mind in particular at The Workers Club in Melbourne, back in 2010(?), packed in a small room on a fairly cold night. By the end of the gig where I'd say there were quite a few people like myself checking them out for the first time, there was literally sweat dripping from the walls and windows. Someone came out dressed in a robot LED costume [...]
THIS! Really really really enjoying this new track from Melbourne disco wonderkids World's End Press. The single got it's debut over on Mess & Noise, and I've been visting that page ever since because I couldn't find an actual direct soundcloud link! Tricky work fellas. But now, it's gone live, and as soon as I [...]

World's End Press - 'Second Day Uptown' Lighten your Monday with happiness delivered from Melbourne's World's End Press. Driven by their live jammin and disco party sound, W.E.P. have a dapper new single on digital release. Despite working on a new record for some time, it seems the boys aren't ready to make any full length release dates just yet. I don't think they're playing hard to get, they just haven't quite distilled their live sound into a recording yet. 'Second Day Uptown' represents what W.E.P. do very well and that is to get your ass dancing. [...]

Remember World's End Press ? It's been too long since we've heard something new from these guys. After releasing two singles, "Only The Brave" and "Golden Child", along with the EP "Faithful" back in 2010, Melbourne's World's End Press return with their new single, "Second Day Uptown", which was produced by Dan Whitford of Cut Copy. A infectious catchy song about "living in the city, assimilating and forgetting who you used to be." Keep an eye out for their debut album due out later this year. [...]
if you're a lover of indie pop guitars and disco synths then you should check out OZtralian quartet, the WORLD'S END PRESS . destined for big thangs in the 012, there's a huge buzz on these disco-house fellas down under. last week i had the pleasure of sitting down with two of the W.E.P. to chat about matters of the music, how they got together, live shows, being produced by one of the CUT COPY members, illegal downloads, plusmore .. wotyougot

Australian four-piece World's End Press is a straight-up dance-pop outfit, drawing inspiration from the Happy Mondays-era British scene and effortlessly combining smooth disco arrangements and synth-heavy melodies. Renowned for their wild live shows, they have long earned themselves a large fan base in Melbourne (their hometown) and all over Australia. The band has had a very busy 2011 touring the country multiple times as special guests of Cut Copy , Primal Scream, Little Red and Metronomy as well as appearing at countless festivals. At the moment, WEP are hard at work on their debut [...]

The first time I heard World's End Press , I was at Falls Festival for New Year's Eve and I almost randomly ended up in front of the scene while they were playing. I usually do not believe in chance, and that day I certainly did not, because there is inevitably a reason why I ended up in front of that stage that night and fell in love straight away. Their music is epic, but when it comes to their shows it's hectic!! They have this kind of magnetism that makes you feel spaced out right away. [...]

Exciting news - Playing times for Golden Plains 2011 are up and found here. It feels like the summer heat never really set in this year. It's therefore a great idea to try to stretch the festival period and get along to Golden Plains. If you don't have a ticket, please don't fret, you can grab one here. With acts like World's End Press, Architecture In Helsinki, The Middle East and Boy and Bear alongside Wavves, Best Coast and Belle and Sebastian - it will be a sweet weekend. [...]
ok, so this is nearly a week late sure, but you know what? I got there. Took me ages, but I got there. Laneway Festival last weekend was killer. The venue is amazingo, and man, that lineup...jeepers. When I reviewed last years, I wrote something along the lines of it being a music bloggers wet [...]

GLOVES has traveled the world, and is slowly remixing his way into the hearts and minds of millions by infusing whatever he touches with dance floor drama. I'm told he's an "Ausie Disco Prince", and that seems plausible after hearing his remix of "Faithfull" by World's End Press . I really enjoyed what he did with Miami Horror 's "Sometimes", and his effervescent remix of Bag Raider 's "Sunlight" on Modular is all over the place, but in terms of sheer dancablity, "Faithfull" is something potent. From the shimmering piano breaks that [...]

ok. So, for the second time in as many years, a new Avalanches album has made the Home & Hosed's Album's of the new year list. And here's hoping that they actually do put out a new album this year, some 11 or so years after their debut. Anyway, enough of the Avalanches anxiety. There [...]

Yama Indra Hondow-Wellby is the former front-man of the now defunct band Damn Arms , and is now producing wonderful music under the name G.L.O.V.E.S . The Australian nu disco maestro has been one of our favourite producers for quite a while, so today we're really proud to present an exclusive interview with him. Let's cut to the chase! Hello Yama Indra, tell us what you've been up to lately! Today I had a photo shoot, which I worked on in collaboration with my close friend Chris Hill of KROZM [...]

Our new favourite act is World's End Press from Melbourne, Australia. This four-piece young band are making waves with their discolicious-synth pop tunes. World's End Press just released their 3rd EP 'Faithful', which comes with their last single 'Only The Brave', a killer piano-breakdown Gloves remix and a cover of Pet Shop Boys' 'West End Girls'. The 'Faithful' EP is a taster of the forthcoming debut album, 'Music For Ther World, due out in 2011. Here's something for you. Pretty cool! Faithful (Gloves' [...]

New single from australian Indie Dance act World's End Press . Groovy. via bigstereo

World's End Press from Melbourne(told you) are all the rage in the car the past few days. Reminds me so much of a modern Happy Mondays with a little !!! thrown in for good measure. These guys could easily bring the indie dance scene back and get kids off the telly and back on the drugs and alcohol. I'm sure you will be hearing more from them soon. Their Pet Shop Boy's cover is brilliant as well, and sure got me in the mood for some gayties. World's End Press="Only the Brave"
