Here's the latest Wu Lyf video that has the new song "DIRT" sound-tracking footage from some of London's most recent riots. A brilliant track that serves as a instant call to arms as much as it promotes their highly anticipated debut album, that is coming out on the 13th of June. They're also going on a UK tour, that includes a 17th of June date in London, at Shoreditch's Village Underground, where they will be joined by another band we love, the equally enigmatic Family . With their debut album set to be released at the start of next month, Manchester psychedelic influenced outfit Wu Lyf have dropped a teaser video featuring another new track, in the form of Dirt. The video is comprised of shots from the recent student protests in London, all captured by Fil Kaler, and makes for a poignant and fitting accompaniment. Dirt continues in a similar vein to previous Wu Lyf material; driven by a demanding drum beat, underpinned by a melancholic organ whilst the bizarrely delivered vocals rage viciously throughout the track. Manchester outfit Wu Lyf have made available today a new track titled "Dust". Given all of the hype and 'secrecy' surrounding these guys, their material so far speaks for itself. "Dust" is no exception with a soulful vocal sitting nicely amidst a variety of syncopated concepts, WU LYF continue to peak our curiosity and anticipation to experience them in a live setting. In the wee hours of the morning Wise Blood dropped a new track. Two of my favorite people's projects were featured on Pitchfork and Altered Zones (Mat Cothran and Tommy Michael respectively). Throw in the first daytrotter session in a few weeks that I'm genuinely excited for and its already been a pretty great day for music. Seeing a new Wu Lyf track on Altered Zones just cemented this day's greatness. One of my favourite online blogs about new music, is no other than the brain child from Peter Lanceley , This Music Wins. This week, Pete released a pretty stellar compilation. The 17 tracks listed are in his mind, great examples of how the internet is affecting the collaboration of music across borders.
