[RSS Readers: See post to listen to audio] I wanted to start this week off with some music that will gradually help ease you thru the day with some must own records. Taylor Deupree has a 4 song gem of an LP that came out in June, as you can see above the artwork is simple and inviting just like the track. This weekend I spent most of my listening time with the new Bvdub LP, I guaranteed I'll be posting another song from this album, its like taking the gentlest Cocteau [...]

A FEW YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED. Before we go completely crazy for 2010 and its endless musical possibilities... There's still time to look back on some of 2009's hidden gems. Here are a few classic albums that may just have slipped under your radar… Real Estate - Real Estate Further proof that nostalgia IS what it used to be, this New Jersey four-piece trade in the kind of carefree surf pop that glorifies the adolescence we we'd [...]

by undomondo » After last night's Ricardo & Zip night, which really wasn't so great thanks to the low suffocation/music ratio, I barely have enough energy to do a quick recap of the first 2 months on undomondo. The commencement of 2009 was barely worthwhile with a few 4 star LPs and slight disappointments from trusted artists. Animal Collective's much hyped album is at most mediocre, if you aren't preaching to the hipster choir, Alela Diane's album is kind of bland after her brilliant sophomore and so is Tim Hecker's [...]
For most of the world living in Iceland is only indirectly experiencable through music. The volcanic island is populated by around 320K people, 1/50 of the population of Istanbul at any given time. It's pretty much the exact opposite of what I've been through in all my life, so naturally I'd love to visit Iceland for the breathtaking scenery, yet this trip seems doomed after the crisis, enter Yagya as an alternative. Aðalsteinn Guðmundsson has been making music for some time and I'm sure everyone interested in minimal / dubby techno music still remember his 2002 release "Rhythm [...]

I've been lacking on the netlabel front for a few months. Today I sorted through my netlabel directory and came up with some recommendation. For easier following I've loosely grouped them according to their genres. Here's an electronica and drone compilation. Some good stuff all around, Akira Kosemura has dreamy ambient scenes with plenty of water and green fields for his debut EP on Monotonik called In a Distant Forest Somewhere . Beautifully done, check out June for a day [...]
