Since last summer, our Amrit Singh has been putting together an independent short film called Dosa Hunt , with Das Racist's Himanshu Suri and Ashok Kondabolu, Vampire Weekend's Rostam Batmanglij, Yeasayer's Anand Wilder, Neon Indian's Alan Palomo, and NYC jazz stalwart Vijay Iyer. It chronicles a day spent by the group in pursuit of NYC's finest version of South Indian staple dish, dosa. Earlier this month, we told you about Fanfarlo 's video for "Shiny Things". Well, we have some more shiny news. Yeasayer (on intermission)lent their unique Middle Eastern-psych-snap-gospel sound to the pop track, toning the original down in all the right places. It's infused with synth and talkbox vocals, leaving no doubt as to who constructed the retake. Yeasayer has offered up a reworking of Fanfarlo 's "Shiny Things" turning it into bouncy number. The single itself is out now with the London band looking to release their album Rooms Filled With Light later in the month on the 28th of February via Canvasback Music/Atlantic. Though both these bands have been relatively quiet over the last year or so, the musical landscape for both bands is set to change. Debo decir que personalmente disfruto mucho de Fanfarlo pero hos ultimos dos sencillos que han soltado la verdad no han sido muuy de mi agrado aunque por ahi me ha tocado ver que muchos coinciden con el hecho de que estos cortes son de los mejores que han entregado hasta el momento pero, en serio, por mas que trato de encontrarles su cierto encanto nadamas no puedo.
