Yeti Lane - The Echo Show By Antonio Tzikas When an albums press release claims legends such as Kraftwerk, My Bloody Valentine, Can, Teenage Fanclub, Spacemen 3 and Pavement as comparisons, there needs to be some hard evidence on show as justification. Luckily, Yeti Lane produce it in the form of the ten brilliant exhibits interspersed with 4 short instrumental breaks that together make up The Echo Show; the second album from the Parisian psych-pop duo. The record is a beautiful mixture of spacey psychedelia and [...]

Psych pop duo Yeti Lane are clearly an ambitious band. Only the most ambitious would position themselves as the missing link between experimental Krautrock and British pop savvy by choosing a name from releases by Amon Düül and the Beatles. Unfortunately, given new album The Echo Show's frequent similarities to the back catalogue of Wayne Coyne's alma mater, they'd have probably been better calling themselves the Yoshimi Bulletin. The meandering, ethereal seven minute opus 'Analog Wheel', gets the album off to an intriguing start. The first couple of minutes sound like Donald [...]

The 2010 debut album from Parisian psych-pop duo Yeti Lane was pleasant enough, but aside from insanely loveable single 'Lonesome George', none of it really stuck. It seemed a tad threadbare, like a batch of demos that were awaiting a sprinkling of gold dust to fully show their potential. There was promise there but whether or not it would ever be fully realised was difficult to predict. Fast forward a couple of years and Ben Pleng and Charlie Boyer have another crack at drawing us into their world with kaleidoscopic follow-up 'The Echo Show'. From [...]
Posted in General Clickable You may remember us giving big love to Yeti Lane track Lonesome George a while back. Since then the Parisian outfit have released their eponymous first album and now are giving us a peek at their second offering The Echo Show on The Drone. This album retains their electronic love but adds a dollop more [...]

From the first few cursory listens and reports from elsewhere in the music world, the early signs are that the second album from French duo Yeti Lane might just be a little bit on the bloody brilliant side. Could we be looking at the next band to make the transition from lovable indie curiosity to critically acclaimed heroes (see also Animal Collective, The Horrors and Beach House), or will the buzz amount to little more than a month or two of feverish media activity while the record buying public barely give it a second look? [...]

Yeti Lane have confirmed they'll be jumping on the Eurostar (do people still take the Ferry?) this March to play a string of dates with Diagrams . March 13 - London, Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen March 14 - Bristol, The Cooler March 15 - Manchester, Ruby Lounge March 16 - Liverpool, Mojo - Buy tickets March 17 - Leeds, Brudenell Social Club March 18 - Glasgow, King Tut's Wah Wah Hut The dates will act [...]

In a vain, desperate and over-ambitious attempt to keep up with the oodles of music we get sent and peruse over various wires, we give you Sack of Streams. The idea is four or five tracks with pithy and un-read descriptions for your aural please, whenever we get chance. Some of the first of these will be tunes from ancient times like October 2011, but if we catch up with our mail sack we might just hit that pop pulse…at which point we'll give up. Undoubtedly this will be a frustratingly irregular and quite possibly short-lived [...]
Parisians Yeti Lane are now down to a duo and have been putting the finishing touches to new album 'The Echo Show' which will be out in the spring. If new track 'Analog Wheel' is anything to go by, they may have been listening to Krautrock! Yeti Lane - Analog Wheel by The Line Of Best Fit

General rule of thumb: if Sonic Cathedral says something is fucking incredible, believe them. Today's example is the new track from Parisian maestros Yeti Lane . Now down to a two-piece of Ben Pleng and Charlie B (they of Cyann and Ben), 'Analog Wheel' is the lead-off track from forthcoming new album The Echo Show , and if it's any indicator of how that record will turn out we're in for quite a treat come March 2012. A seven minute epic opening track, 'Analog Wheel' calls [...]

What started as a one-off club night in 2004 to promote the criminally under-appreciated debut album from The Radio Dept quickly grew into many more club nights. Two years down the line, following a nervous request to put out a 7" for former Ride frontman Mark Gardener, Sonic Cathedral became a record label. Adrian Mules caught up with the man behind the stained glass, Nathaniel Cramp, to find out more. "The name Sonic Cathedral started as a joke," explains Nathaniel on an early morning chat, after we've put our respective toddlers into [...]

The departure of a band member can bring many successful outfits to their knees; when you are a three-piece it's like loosing an arm, two-thirds of a leg and a kidney (yes, I've been up all night carving up cadavers just to work this one out). But when LoAc Carron waved a cheery farewell to band-mates Ben and Charlie there were no tears or hurried ads stuck up in newsagent windows. They forged a path back to the studio and recorded an EP of material that actually manages to eclipse their staggering debut. Of the four tracks on [...]
