Perhaps overjoyed by the news of a forthcoming VH1 biopic , Portlandia star Fred Armisen and a slew of notable guests covered TLC's classic "Waterfalls" during his show last night at NYC's Bowery Ballroom. Armisen was joined by Les Savy Fav's Tim Harrington, Marnie Stern, Yo La Tengo’s James McNew, Nada Surf’s Matthew Caws, Telekinesis’ Michael Lerner, and Sixpence None the Richer’s Leigh Nash (?!). Together, this rag-tag supergroup kept things straightforward, albeit with noticeable blues-funk undertones. The Bunbury Music Festival has revealed the lineup for its 2013 installment, which takes place July 12th - 14th at Sawyer Point and Yeatman’s Cove in Cincinnati, Ohio. Yo La Tengo' s songs run the gamut, as if Ira Kaplan, Georgia Hubley, and James McNew are perpetually fingering through a rock lexicon Rolodex filled with names from the far reaches of (mostly) good taste.
