Yoni Gordon and The Good's impressive 2009 album 'Turning Chaos Into A Career' merited a spot in our end of year top albums list. The troubadour was back this year with the album 'Country For The Timid' offering a completely different angle. Temporarily parking The Goods in favour of a guitar and voice combo makes [...]

This is the classic "underdog" inclusion to my top albums. Despite not having the same financial backing that other artists on this list had few releases in 2009 could match Yoni Gordon and the Goods for sheer passion. 'Turning Chaos Into A Career' works as an album because it many dynamics yet maintains an an [...]

Horrible photo, I know, but I wanted to show you what my neighbours house looks like. We have tour buses, cars, police cars, and pedestrians on our street just to see this Christmas display. They do it for charity, I think they are raising funds for Sick Kids Hospital. It is overpowering but not to bad, it's just that when you drive up to the house your blinded by the lights of the display and cars that are parked looking at the house. Anyway, I wanted to regift from last year one of my favorite Christmas songs and [...]

Yoni Gordon & the Goods , Franz Nicolay and Emilyn Brodsky have recorded a cover of The Pogues classic, "Fairytale of New York," with the proceeds to benefit Feeding America, an organization that partners up with local foodbanks across the country to help feed some of the millions of Americans who are spending the holidays without enough money to put food on their tables. The cover is part of a special two song single and they are asking people who download the it to donate five dollars to Feeding America. [...]

On of the easiest ways for an artist to be remind fans (and blogs) that they exist is to release a little holiday carol at the end of the year. This year, for whatever reason, our inbox has been flooded with holiday music from all over the indie world and we thought it might be nice to share it all with you guys. Obviously there's only a week left until Christmas a lot of us will be scrambling to pick up last minute gifts (or all of our gifts), some will be baking to make some yummy foods for the [...]

Brooklyn-based indie rockers Yoni Gordon & the Goods are covering a classic Christmas single for charity. With the help of The Hold Steady's Franzy Nicolay and singer Emilyn Brodsky, the group is making their version of The Pogues' "Fairytale of New York" available for download. Gordon is asking that donations be mad to Feeding America who support local foodbanks across the United States. If
Yesterday's Yoni Gordon post reminded me I received the video for The So So Glos' rather ace 'My Block' track a few weeks ago. Taken from their recent Tourism/Terrorism album, the video follows frontman Alex Levine as he takes a mischievous walk around the block. Yoni Gordon and The Goods, Franz Nicolay and Emilyn Brodsky have collaborated on a wonderful cover of one of my favorite songs of all time, "Fairytale of New York" by The Pogues. They are offering up a two song single in exchange for donations to Feeding America . If you have some spare cash, consider the charity. Every dollar you donate to Feeding America helps provide 9 pounds of food and grocery products to men, women and children facing hunger in our country. "Weird Al" Yankovic is one of the smartest men in music. Think about it. How many other wannabe jokesters have tried to do exactly what he does? And how many have even achieved one-tenth of his success? Everyone feels like they have a hilarious parody up their sleeves – in middle school my friend had a food-themed version of the Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way" that never failed to
