I knew I'd been lazy recently, but I didn't realise quite how long it had been since the last Friday Freebies. Oops. There's probably millions of things have come out since the last time I wrote one of these, but I'll likely miss out loads of them or else this will go on forever. Here's a handful of things that are either free or name your price to keep you going. Royal Edinburgh Music Derek from Evil Hand shared a couple of songs [...]

This is a nice new video from Ill Legit, and the introduction to the wardrobe of JR Blac. "You Already Know" offers listeners soulful Hip Hop with an incorporation of reggae. A nice combination and end of the year win for Ill Legit.
"If you type 33 in Wingdings it looks like the Twin Towers, OMG CONSPIRACY!" 1997 again, seriously? Yes, seriously. Piss off. I actually completely missed Far first time round, it wasn't until You Already Know covered Bury White on am EP for Record Store Day a few years ago that I heard the song. Heard it, liked it, went and bought some Far records, liked them too. Then Far released At Night We Live, their first album in 12 years, I looked forward to it [...]

I slacked off a bit from getting back to writing about my picks for albums of the year, but I'm getting back to it a bit now, starting with this one. I've mentioned previously on Aye Tunes that instrumental bands tend to be tough for me to get on board with, mainly due to having seen and heard so many rubbish ones over the past year or two. Imagine my surprise then when I fell in love with not one, but two of them over the course of this year. Stop Whispering is the debut album [...]
