eigentlich müsste hier längst meine rückschau aufs omas teich festival stehen. diese geriet mir in den letzten tagen aber irgendwie außer kontrolle und schmollt auf meiner festplatte bockig vor sich hin, während ich mich gedanklich ununterbrochen einem anderen festival widme. ständig berichteten mir freunde und bekannte in den letzten monaten und jahren von der ganz besonderen und unvergleichen atmosphäre des haldern festivals, quasi der königin der indie-festivals. dieses jahr darf ich dem treiben endlich auch selbst beiwohnen. nachdem ich mir gerade young rebel set im wiesbadener schlachthof zu gemüte geführt habe, fiebere ich dem ganzen nur noch mehr entgegen. ich [...]

Stockton-on-Tees septet Young Rebel Set will be self-releasing a new EP in early May. 'Won't Get Up Again' is an interesting, varied collection of tunes. The first half could be called 'the stadium favourites'. The title track is country with a slight pop edge, which explains their MySpace citing Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan as influences. There is nothing new about this seven piece from Stockton-On-Tees, indeed in many ways I feel that I probably should not like them!!! You may ask why then am I writing this article despite my reservations, but something has been drawing me back to them. The second single 'Walk On' is released on November 30th through the band's own label (Our Broadcast).
