We featured The Chevin's brand new single "Drive" as our Song of the Week not too long ago and now we get a look at the video behind their first track. "Drive" hit a wide audience from the UK and Ireland and the US is currently trailing those debuts as The Chevin aim to target their homeland as their main audience. Your Vegas did much of the same marketing, when their self-titled release debuted in the US about six months after the UK. At any rate, news of The Chevin's first video is welcoming [...]

For those that don't know Coyle Girelli , he gave us the opportunity to interview him back in 2008 in anticipation of Your Vegas ' album at that time A Town And Two Cities . Coyle was lead-singer at that time and Your Vegas was lucky (and talented) enough to tour with The Bravery. Coyle's story was that of moving from the UK to NYC. He played several solo acoustic shows in New York City and eventually signed a contract with Warner Brothers. Since then, things have gone dark [...]

This Friday's mix is stripped down and strung together by some of the latest acoustic tracks out there from artists from all over. Your Vegas ' "It Makes My Heart Break" and some of their other unreleased music has us teeming for an upcoming album, while Nanna Øland Fabricius from Oh Land hypnotizes us once more with her edgy, yet soft, vocals. Metric 's Emily Haines scores big points with the glam-free "Gimme Sympathy", which really shows how acute her voice is even when synthesized beats cover her path. About a [...]

Back by popular demand is Part 2 of March's 'Handful of Remixes'. If you missed Part 1, you can check it out here . Featured this week we can't tell you how much we did Lykke Li' s "Little Bit", remixed by CSS. Although her new album Wounded Rhymes (released 3/1/11) didn't really stick with us, she's still quite remixable. Also this week is Friends Electric who we featured last week . The Answering Machine has been on everyone's playlists and we jumped [...]

Your Vegas acoustic, private party.

Back in the summer of 2008 I went to see friend and local musician Shane Hines perform at one of my favourite small venues, Jammin' Java in Vienna, VA. He always puts on a great show, but what I didn't expect was to be blown away by the opener, Your Vegas . Originally from a small town outside of Leeds, the anthemic rock band toured on a few indie singles, playing in small bars and clubs [...]
I haven't heard weather or not this show will premiere tonight on Cox 10, but regardless, you can watch it now. This one is a weird one. I did two separate interviews with Wildbirds & Peacedrums and Your Vegas on two different days at the same location on windy days and they both ended up in the same episode. Crazy, no? Well enjoy, because I am taking a little time off on making new episodes. Who knows, I may get board next week and make a new episode. Static 317 [...]
I had a great time with the Your Vegas guys on another windy day on the banks of the East River. We talked for a half hour! They are really nice and very entertaining. Check out this interview we did with them for our latest show that will be premiering next week. Like I said, it was a 30 minute interview, so of course I have some extra content. Here is a conversation we had on the internet and Twittering.

We like to feel as though we know quite a bit about our friends from Leeds, UK, but the truth is, we had no idea they were releasing their newest track as a bonus to their fans until they announced it this past week. "Champion" is the upbeat fivesome's latest track and may be heard on Your Vegas' Everything Burns Tour which also features bands SHIROCK and The Daylights . You can listen to Your Vegas' song "Champion" on their MySpace page . If you missed our interview [...]
It's just another holiday season hostage situation for Sgt... make that Captain Al Powell ( Reginald VelJohnson ). This is at least his third, counting the first two Die Hard films, and he's still a stress twinkie eater (like his cousing Big Mike). Besides 'Big Al' Powell and his twinkie, the episode employed the same version of "Ode to Joy" used in Die Hard . The rest of the music is all standard holiday music fare, aside from the closing song, Your Vegas' "Christmas, I'm Through with You," which worked with Chuck's (and Morgan's) torn [...]

The Dark Romantics aptly titled sophomore album, Heartbreaker , will wrap its wild vines of despair around your heart. An album like this one isn't something we stumble on quite often, but the darkness and underlying sweeps of brittle emotions will capture your attention. On first listen, this was not a typical album to get sucked into. It was much more downtrodden than I anticipated hearing, and my first impressions were to expect something perhaps less melodic than what had actually hit my ears. The album [...]
It turns out I am not well suited for waiting patiently. That being said I'll get straight to the music in this volume of Best of the Month. If you'd like to check out all the previous volumes click through this link . All the tracks in one zip file : here {zshare = left click} mp3 : Boy Crisis - Dressed to Digress Love the title, love the opening couple of lines of this song, and love the dance beat that's draped across the entire song. Yeah it's a bit [...]
This Friday, August 22nd marks the Jupiter One record release party at Bowery Ballroom. Their new, self-titled album drops next Tuesday via Cordless Recordings and offers up an electrifying, invigorating sound that recalls the pogo-party frenzy of the late-'70s/early-'80s underground club scene coupled with a contemporary guitar punch that has garnered the band comparisons to [...]

It took a very long time for me to find my camera cable, but I wanted to post these photos I took during day #1 of Lollapalooza of Your Vegas. They were FANTASTIC. WORDS AND PHOTOS by ANDREW DANIELS This past weekend marked the inaugural All Points West festival at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ. Originally intended to be the "Coachella of the East" when the event was first rumored earlier this year, Goldenvoice/AEG instead delivered a less-than-stellar lineup when the performers were announced. The bill read like two Radiohead shows and one Jack Johnson show , with a bunch of indie acts ranging from notable to "who?" in the support slots. However, that didn't stop [...]
After serving up some heated kickball late Thursday night, I headed to downtown Philadelphia to catch Your Vegas at The Khyber. Being informed they would be playing second out of three groups, I was shocked to enter the venue with their sound already in the air. Your Vegas The UK group turned NYC natives of Your Vegas played beneath dim red lights on the spacious 15x15 foot stage in a room adjacent to the ever-bustling bar of The Khyber. [...]
