Death Cab For Cutie are no strangers to playing with an Orchestra . Teaming up with the Magik* Magik Orchestra, Death Cab For Cutie worked through a twenty-four song set of Ben Gibbard's self-described "baroque pop." Some of the highlights included the acoustic interpretation of "405," the string flourishes during Gibbard's solo acoustic take on "I Will Follow You Into The Dark," and the transcendental "Transatlanticism." Bedroom pop crooner Trevor Powers (aka Youth Lagoon ) has expanded his summer touring schedule in support of his debut LP, The Year of Hibernation , out now via Fat Possum. After wrapping up a few shows this month opening for Death Cab for Cutie , Powers will return to the road in early July for a 14-date run. Father John Misty will act as support for the leg.
