Zach Hill is one nasty drummer. I guess the only real reason he's on my radar is the brief stint he did as Wavves' drummer a few months ago. It was the best Wavves show I've ever seen, in large part because of Hill's expressive, frenetic drumming. Probably one of the best drummers I've ever seen live, period. Bygones--a side project of Hella's Zach Hill and Tera Melos' Nick Reinhart--has just put out a new EP, and it's a welcome change from their debut, by-.On by-, Hill and Reinhart didn't do much outside of what we've come to expect from their respective bands. I got a nice little package in the mail a few weeks ago, an advance copy of the album dropping from newborn collaboration between Zach Hill (yes, ANOTHER project) and Zac Nelson (Hexlove, Trawler Bycatch): Chll Pll . Their first album, Agressively Humble, is due out October 20. We already reported on the upcoming tour from Los Angeles buzz band Wavves ; however, it appears that the one man mastermind is losing one drummer in favor of another. This time joinging Nathan Williams (aka Wavves) on the road will be Zach Hill of Hella. Hill is one hell of a drummer and could easily overshadow Williams. It's official: Despite a questionable work ethic, questionable musical taste and, most importantly, a questionable haircut, I am now endorsing Wavves .
