Raise your right hand in the air, put your left hand over your heart and repeat after me: "I love Indie Rock." If Indie Rock (particularly new Indie Rock) is something that truly tickles your pickle, then The Indie Sabbath has a present in store for you that will stimulate your senses in a new and tantalizing way every week. Sometimes we need a break from the everyday grind - the worship of a job you hate, your school which you despise and all those other systematic functions our society has been dragged in to. Let [...]

If you've been following me on Twitter (and if you haven't, click here), you may have read that the CD player in my car died, so all I have is radio to keep me company. Well, this might not sound all that bad, but to me it's unbearable. I haven't listened exclusively to the radio for what may seem like decades, and to be thrust back into depending on it for music is sheer torture. I don't know how many of you listen to the radio anymore, but my guess would be a minority. [...]

This is getting difficult now, it truly is. Little did I know when I started this project back in March (Check out what that post and this whole thing is about HERE. ) that it would take up so much of my time, my thoughts and my listening time. Not that I'm complaining, this project is forcing me to go on quite the musical journey, raking up tons of memories as I go... 67. Michael Jackson - Dirty Diana [4:41] [time remaining 749.00] (Drop io) [...]
South By Southwest (SXSW) wrapped up March 22 with it's final shows. Here's a recap of some note worthy performances.

I won't be going, but if I was, these would be my highlights. Now I know it will be impossible to see all of these bands/artists, I know how SXSW works. However, the SXSW website has a plethora of free songs for you to sample to assist you in your decision. If you are not going, go ahead and download them anyway; there's obviously a reason why these bands were picked to showcase their music this year. Abe Vigoda - Don't Lie [...]
In SVB's ongoing SXSW Best Bets series, we take time out to celebrate the genius of the Illadelph music scene, one that's floruished in brilliance over the last couple years. Here's a sampling from some of my hometown Philly folks who'll be town at SX worth checking out. Joe Jack Talcum (you remember him from The Dead Milkmen!) schedule at SXSW Sex Sting - Joe Jack Talcum Good Old [...]
Below you will find a list of some of our suggestions for bands you should check out at this year's South by Southwest music festival in Austin. There's one listed for each letter of the alphabet, along with an MP3 sample and a show listing for when and where to catch each band. (Note: we've listed solo artists under the letter of their FIRST name and bands with "the" in their title as if there were no "the" simply because it looks better this way.) Please leave your own suggestions for bands to see in Austin [...]
I know I sound like a broken mp3 but I really do get excited every year when the Southwest by Southwest Music Festival posts its schedule of showcases, along with hundreds and hundreds of mp3s by artists who will be performing in Austin, Texas (USA) on the dates indicated above. Over the next I don't know how many days, I'll be posting some of my favorites. Some of them are actually old friends,

Some photos from the early afternoon portion of this weekend's WXPN XPoNential Music festival at Wiggins Park on The Camden NJ waterfront. Cheers Elephant kicked the day off on the Marina stage in fine style with an outstanding set, followed by new wavey sounds of Zolof The Rock And Roll Destroyer and then the rhythmic indie rock of Delaware's Spinto Band on the main stage. [...]

Schematics marks the third LP from Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer , and the first since 2003's dance-a-thon Jalopy Go Far, released on Eyeball Records (My Chemical Romance, Thursday). Since then, the band released an EP featuring Kenny Vasoli of the Starting Line and Anthony Green from Circa Survive and Saosin, and recently colaborated with friends Reel Big Fish on a six-song split exclusively containing duets between the 2 bands. When not in the studio, Zolof tours nationally with bands like the Gym Class Heroes and Motion City Soundtrack. These pop-rock angels have earned their wings [...]

Are you ready for Philly's Zolof The Rock & Roll Destroyer ? I sure hope so. Rachel Minton and Vince Ratti started the band in 2000 and as one of their fans wrote about them in a review on Amazon, "imagine the Go-Go's as a power pop/punk band and you get the idea." Can You See The Sunset called it "feel-good fun rock for the myspace emo generation." On Schematics - their first album in four years - their songs are [...]

The Format has been one of my favorites for awhile. Their style has a sometimes indie, sometimes acoustic, folk, pop-rock sound/feel to it. I first saw them at Soma, in San Diego. They played with Mae, and Ozma. Ever since, I've been hooked. I highly recommend you pick up an album, & go see them. Now. Yes, now. listen & be happy. Tune Out Oceans Dog Problems The Format is on tour The Honorary Title is on tour with them [...]

I can still remember listening to Zolof for the first time, after a friend had recommended them. "There's no way to not get into this," he said. He was right. To call their sound 'catchy' would be an extreme understatement. Their infectious power-pop is just chock-full of ridiculously sweet keyboard and guitar solos and over-the-top lyrics. This is feel good, pump-up music at its best. The self-professed "spunk rockers" are on tour right now, definitely try to catch one of their amazing live shows if you can: Mar 13 2007 9:00P [...]
