Legos were so much cooler when they weren't all Star Wars and stuff but were regular and you had to make shit out of them with your imagination. Sometimes I worry that the kids aren't thinking for themselves enough, but then I go back to what I'm doing.

We've been fans of The Zookeepers ever since they first sent us their manic music in 2009. The New England band is back with the EP, True To These Times , which continues to deliver everything we expect from The Zookeepers: overflowing energy and a unique perspective on rock music that makes them one of the more interesting bands today. Our highlighted tack of the day, "Foil" plays like a punk version of a later Sparks song with touches of Queen's playfulness. The song is filled with catchy guitar hooks, noise, yelling, chants...it's packed [...]

Zoo Keeper by DZA It's a new EP of original joints from Russian beatmeister, DZA. The EP's titled Zoo Keeper, and I'm loving the cross section of sounds this thing is working with. The sounds on this thing may be pretty simple, pretty skeletal, but they're so brightly colored. Funny little samples pop in here and there, and the total package itself just sounds like playful and nostalgic mood symbolized by the 8-bit pixelation pictured on the EP's cover. Stream the whole thing above, and find out how to get a copy over [...]

Friends with Benefits Timberlake, Kunis, Clarkson, Harrelson and a reference to Semisonic’s hit “Closing Time”...where do I sign up? The Zookeeper Why do I get the feeling the pitch for this film started with: “Think of Night at the Museum but in a zoo...”
This is an ever changing and (hopefully) expanding list of some of the songs I have mentioned before in this blog or simply stuff I have found somewhere on the web that I find interesting, but have no time to write about. All files have been found somewhere in cyberspace (and NONE of them have uploaded by me, so I cannot help you with any requests you might have - just keep returning and something new might pop up), so they will be available until the artists, record labels, fans, whatever decide to remove them. Thanks to a few readers, [...]

the zookeepers - "rpg theme" (download) It's hard to classify The Zookeepers , a high energy group of guys from Boston who aren't afraid to show their humorous side. They like humor so much, in fact, that they have Paul Rudd all over their video , and their songs and albums have titles like Elmer's Paste Land , "Lady GaGa" and "Custardy [...]
It's hard to believe that The Zookeepers are still as young as they are (I didn't ask, but I'm thinking they're about 11) when you consider not only their polished and well delivered sound, but that they've released SEVEN albums. In the last FOUR years. That's damn prolific. And they're only 11. I think. They're creating music that is unbelievably fun, catchy, danceable, and witty. Think of Cake covering At The Drive-in, but instead of the words being screamed, they're occasionally sung and occasionally rapped. Their latest album "Good Looking Out" is easily one of the more standout albums of [...]
Posts relacionados: [...]

The Zookeepers . Four dudes from Boston putting out some pretty interesting indie rock. A bit experimental in their tracks too. RPG Theme is definitely a case in point. Pretty interesting stuff actually. The track uses this keys motif that continues right throughout the song. Sounds like it's part of some 80's computer game or something. It's actually really good fun! ...much like an RPG. And man, this is only a theme for an RPG, so they're definitely doing something right! Anyway, here it is. The Zookeepers - RPG Theme [...]

Check out this interesting track/video from Boston Group, The Zookeepers . The track is called "RPG Theme" and comes from their LP Good Looking Out . The track has this really fun, whimsical type feel to it that can only be classified as a new breed of pop. You can download/donate Good Looking Out from their bandcamp site to get some more Zookeepers tracks if you want. I've only listened to one song so far but it was that good that I actually just bought the album to check out further-you should too. [...]
