Well folks, today is a very special day. Not only for myself, but for the DSCOTECH blog as well. This post marks my first mix exclusively prepared for DSCOTECH , and man am I proud of this one. My main goal for this mix was to make a set so irresistibly danceable, that even if you're at the office, slaving away on a Tuesday afternoon, you'll still find yourself aggressively head bopping to said beats. And I'm proud to say, I believe I have met my objective. So take your right/left index finger, drag that cursor over [...]

Yesterday I was pleasantly surprised. The completely massive EP titled The Keep, was set to release in April, but by some magic force, it was recently released just a few days ago. It contains four diamonds (two originals, and two remixes) that successfully illustrate Boy 8-Bit 's mastery of the Electro House genre. My absolute favorite track is The Keep. This track has been haunting me ever since I first heard it at HARD 13. The steady and substantial rise of the hook builds vast amount of anticipation. This rise eventually [...]

Well folks, today is a very special day. Not only for myself, but for the DSCOTECH blog as well. This post marks my first mix exclusively prepared for DSCOTECH , and man am I proud of this one. My main goal for this mix was to make a set so irresistibly danceable, that even if you're at the office, slaving away on a Tuesday afternoon, you'd still feel compelled to head bop just to manage the urge to freak. And I believe I met my goal. So take that right/left index finger of yours, drag that cursor [...]

It's back baby! This week we're going old school. I'm talking cocaine-and-platform-shoes people! My intentions today is to bring back the funk that made all of this electronic madness possible. These tracks moved the dance floors then, and continue to do so today. A true testament to their quality and undeniable danceability. Any track that include the words 'Night', 'Boogie', or 'Ladies', in the title, is automatically an ace in my book. Here's an experiment for all of you to try. Put one of these tracks on the jukebox while at a party tonight and make sure to pay close [...]

Let's face it. You can always count on the Frenchies to throw it down right proper. I've been a fan of Les Petit Pilous ever since I first heard Wake Up , but their recent releases have reignited my musical flame for this French duo. Their recent EP released on Boys Noize Records titled Bielle , is chalk full of quality tracks. The biggest track off their EP is definitely Russian Forest , as it boasts a sloppy moog synth that lifts its' audience to an electronic frenzy filled with fist-pumping and hysterically [...]

Oh my goodness. PeaceTreaty . Los Angeles' biggest little secret has been impressing the hell out of me as of late. With their recent remixes of Ben Oprstu 's Jungle Game and Harvard Bass ' 81 , they are straight-up killing it. They are receiving attention from some of today's most popular acts such as Fake Blood , Dada Life , and Congorock , just to name a few. Kissy Sell Out has recently featured PeaceTreaty productions on his weekly radio show for BBC Radio 1 [...]

The Bloody Beetroots have finally released a new, and absolutely massive track titled Domino . It comes off their recent EP which is also titled Domino . The song starts off a bit slow and whispy, but by the 1:40 mark, your jamming hard. It is safe to say that that classic Beetroot style is back, and in full force. I began to worry about the direction the Beets were going when Romborama was release. It was a bit too eclectic for my taste, as I was expecting tracks that would [...]

Nobody Beats the Drum is a Dutch Electro group that utilizes, to perfection, crunchy synths and disintegrating bass lines. There is nothing soft about these boys. I especially enjoy their music videos, all of which are directed by their own, Rogier van der Zwaag. Each and every one of the videos ooze with creativity and uniqueness. While their tracks are ripping your eardrums to shreds (and I mean that in the best way possible), their music videos keep you visually satisfied. And from what I've heard, they bring the house down at their live shows. You'd be [...]

A new dance party series is emerging that goes by the name of MVMT . There are multiple parties in the works, so y'all better get ready. What makes this dance party series unique you ask? The fact that each event will highlight and donate to a different non-profit organization. So you can feel good about getting sloppy drunk from their two-dollar beer special AND partake in dancing your pants off with that 'good-looking' girl you'll tell your friends all about in the morning, because it's for a great cause. For this specific event, MVMT will be [...]

My good friend DSCO introduced me to this act, and I've been intrigued ever since. Sebastien Tellier is a French artist hailing out of Paris (funny how the Frenchies seem to have really figured out how to make sounds). Tellier's first album, L'incroyable Vérité , was released in 2001. The album was well-received and Tellier would subsequently tour with Air in support of the album. Sebastien has since released three albums, all under [...]

Today I am introducing a groovy new feature on the DSCOTECH blog. Every Saturday, from this day forth, I will present you all with a Disco inspired post. And if you don't like Disco music, well . . . there's something plain wrong with you. Whether it be some Golden Oldies or some brand spanking new Disco House, you'll see it here. I am excited for this weekly feature, as Disco music has been in my life since I was a wee-lad. So put them' bell bottoms on and let's start this one off with a bang! [...]

The new Australian electronic group, Julien & The Wolves show great promise, but unfortunately at the moment, they are a complete enigma. Not much is known about them, leaving me to believe that they are relatively new. Their baren myspace page only adds to the mystery. I'm excited to see what the future holds for this electro group. For now, enjoy this radical video. Big ups to Anthony Zayler for the find.

The day has come. I've been expecting this track ever since Benny Benassi first dropped it at EDC 2009. This is one of those tracks that leave an audience completely dumbfounded and crazed. To all my DJ's out there, drop this and receive great results. The old school hip-hop sample (can you guess where it's from?) embedded into this track hooks the listener, and then The Bloody Beetroots signature style locks them in for a dirty-synth and bass-heavy ride. Buckle up everybody, were going to Bangerville, USA. Benny Benassi - [...]

(Photo by pitzigoiul ) This week has been pretty hectic for me, hence the lack of posts. Don't worry, I will make up for it next week. I leave you all with a picture of two women caressing, as well as a few auditory gifts from my current itunes playlist to pass the time, enjoy. Joey Beltram - Slice 2010 (Carl Cox Rerub) Essentially, I Feel Love 2010 Afrojack - Pon De Street Typical Afrojack Style (that's [...]

This last weekend has forever sealed my love for Boy 8-Bit . He is a masterful musician that directly gears his extraordinary talent towards his live performance. The entire time, he had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hands. One of the reasons his performance was so spectacular was because his music sounds like nothing else out there right now. His music is very much melodically influenced and sometimes referred to as soft electro , which is a label I can agree with. In the near future, he will be releasing a massive track called [...]

What a night. Some crazy surprises and quality talent made this event one not to forget (WARNING: If you did not attend, this review will make you cringe with regret). The party started off a bit slow, with people trickling into the main stage where a stagnate HARD logo greeted them. The opening DJ, Ali G , did his job and warmed up the crowd for what was to come. After he got the crowd's heart rate up, the act responsible for all the madness was up next. Destructo took the stage with more speakers, [...]

My internet hasn't been working for the past week, making it very difficult to try and find anything to write about; despite this setback, I was still able to find a few interesting sounds to share with you all. One such sound is that of After Disco . After Disco combines the movement of an undying beat with very rhythmic patterns serving as leads; a sound that I find described perfectly by the name of this New York duo. After Disco is a self-proclaimed 'new project' that consists of artists [...]

For all of you who don't have a fucking clue, here are the set times to HARD 13. If you spot me, be sure to say hi, I'd love to meet you! Here are some toons for the car ride there, enjoy ; ). It's party time people! Montell Jordan - This Is How We Do It Larry Tee feat. Roxy Cottontail - Let's Make Nasty (Afrojack Remix) Alex Gaudino - Destination Calabria (Nari & Milani Club Mix) [...]
Robot Love (Eron Surdam & Evan Ross), a DJ/Producer duo coming out of LA, has recently released a remix of Britney Spears ' 3 . I'm flabbergasted on how good this remix is, considering the fact that the original track is geared towards the Ed Hardy crowd. This track is a great alternative to the original. So if you're a club DJ and you're asked to play God-Awful-Top-40, Robot Love has given you have a saving grace, so you can please the crowd and keep your indie/hipster dignity. I can't wait to see [...]
