![[Watch] Deerhunter Debuts "Monomania" on Fallon](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4871367_lg.jpg)
Deerhunter returned in a ̶b̶i̶g̶ creepy way this past Tuesday, performing the title track from their recently announced sixth album Monomania on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon . The song saw the band return with a brash, raucous sound, and the performance was in every way memorable. Most notable was lead singer Bradford Cox, who donned a black wig and mangled fingers. According to Pitchfork , this is part of his new persona, Connie Lungpin. Check out the performance below, along with a stream of the iTunes quality [...]
Last night if you follow us here at SKoA closely, you may have been aware that Kibbe was at the Ed Sullivan Theater helping Wayne Coyne with his Reddit AMA prior to the band hitting up Letterman. You can check out the interesting AMA over here if you missed it. Chances are if you missed that, you may have also missed their performance on Late Show with David Letterman so why not hit play on the video above to see Wayne and co perform "Look... The Sun Is Rising" which is taken [...]
![[Listen] Rudimental - "Hell Could Freeze" Feat. Angel Haze (Skream Remix)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4871015_lg.jpg)
The talented Oliver Jones, better known as Skream , has reworked the great sounding track from Rudimental which we heard back in November last year, "Hell Could Freeze". Taking the original Angel Haze featuring track, Oli transforms the already laidback original into a track that will go well in the coming months once the evenings get a bit warmer and we enjoy our time outside with friends and beers. Just as the sun begins to set, you now the vibe. Angel's verses remain intact too and fit in nicely around the rework. Premiered on Annie Mac's show, [...]
Phoenix may have already let loose the official video for "Entertainment" but they must of been feeling generous as today they've offered up a live performance homemade clip as well. Isn't that nice? Seen above, it shows the band sat in front of a green screen blasting out a nice acoustic performance of the track which for me has been a true grower. When I first heard it in February I was not feeling it at all. Fast forward to April and I love it. Time heals all I guess. If you enjoy the video, [...]
![[Listen] James Blake - "Take a Fall For Me" Feat. RZA x "Every Day I Ran"](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4870824_lg.jpg)
Just yesterday we got to enjoy the animated video from James Blake for the track " Voyeur ", which helped to build some more anticipation ahead of his new album Overgrown dropping next week on the 8th of April. Today the man himself takes to Tumblr to let loose not one but two brand new cuts from the record. Below you can stream "Take a Fall For Me" which features the lyrical finesse of RZA , a stand out for me personally when first hearing the album. Secondly there's the Big Boi sampling [...]
I'll be honest, I'm not usually into album samplers. I'm also not usually as excited to hear a new album as I am for The Dillinger Escape Plan 's follow up to 2010's Option Paralysis though . Titled One Of Us The Kille r, it's set for release on the 14th of May via the band's own Party Smasher Inc., in partnership with Sumerian Records. So I thought you guys might be just as interested to hear what the band have in store for us. We've already got to hear the [...]
We've mentioned Findlay a few times here on SKoA. And by a few, I literally mean twice. She comes from the city I live (Manchester) and makes damn good blues infused, energetic, foot stomping tunes that make you want to get up and have a dance along to. It grabbed my attention immediately when I heard it in the back half of 2012 and I've eagerly awaited more songs arriving in the mail. Today was that day and a new track titled "Off & On" can now be enjoyed following up last year's tasters. It's [...]
James Blake is preparing to release his stunning second album Overgrown next week on the 8th of April via Atlas and to get us all a little more hyped, he's released the video accompaniment for "Voyeur". The video is actually an animated clip created by Ferry Gouw and you can watch it above along with taking in all the cowbell goodness of the track. They do always say: "more cowbell", but how much is too much? Judge for yourselves as the tension builds throughout the track in a way James seems to have mastered [...]
I saw Blacklisters post a still from this video late last year , in fact it was back in November, nearly 5 whole months ago! Ever since I saw that I've been creepily stalking their Facebook page in hope of seeing the clip that still came from. Well the wait is over, the band have finally unleashed the video and it's one hell of a weird trip through their track "Clubfoot by Kasabian". The video appears to start as a work training day in which you see Billy hit play on a tape for his [...]
They say today is a celebration for the resurrection of Jesus Christ after he was crucified. That's one belief. I can respect that. Others may celebrate the fact they'll get given a crap tonne of egg shaped chocolate from numerous family members and friends, or maybe even from some fictitious fluffy rabbit. If you're into that kind of thing, I can respect that too. I however will be celebrating the return of Queens of the Stone Age , who have debuted brand new material at Lollapalooza Brazil. Hell yeah. Titled "My God is [...]
All week we've been getting some exclusive videos from Scottish band Biffy Clyro in which they've been talking through their new album Opposites. We've already seen Simon, James and Ben talk about " The Thaw ", " A Girl and His Cat ", " Accident Without Emergency ", and " Spanish Radio ". Today we get their opinions and thoughts on album closer, "Picture A Knife Fight". You can check out the video clip above along with streaming the track in full below. I've had this album on repeat for months and it's the gift that [...]
![[Listen] Stream Yeah Yeah Yeahs New Cut "Under the Earth"](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4860753_lg.jpg)
The New York Times digs into the history of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs in a newly published editorial , but what's more the editorial included a premiere of a brand new track from the New York outfit. Titled "Under the Earth", the cut steps away from the gospel rock of "Sacrilege" and moves into slippery funk basslines and spacey synthesizers. It's a grimy track fit for a night on the town. Stream it here . Mosquito , the band's fourth studio LP, is out on April 16th. Check [...]
![[Watch] Vampire Weekend Perform Three New Tracks Live](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4860747_lg.jpg)
Vampire Weekend performed in New York City last night, recording the mini concert especially for Canada's QTV. During the performance, Ezra Keonig and co. played three songs from their upcoming album Modern Vampires of the City , including "Diane Young", "Unbelievers" and "Ya Hey". You can find the first at 6:20 in the first video, while the latter two can be heard at the 19:09 and 43:44 marks of the second video. If that's not enough to satisfy, band members Ezra and Rostam Batmanglij took part in an interview with Q host [...]
![[Album Stream] Tyler, The Creator - 'Wolf'](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4860748_lg.jpg)
Some savvy listeners may already have their hands on the leaked version of Tyler, The Creator 's upcoming album Wolf , but for the legal-oriented folks out there the LP is up on SoundCloud to stream in full. Tyler has brought on a good amount of guest talent for this one, including Odd Future members Frank Ocean, Domo Genesis, Left Brain, Hodgy Beats and Earl Sweatshirt along with Erykah Badu, Pharrell and more. Check it out below (via Odd Future's Tumblr ). Wolf is out on April 2nd.
Never short of fucked up, weird ideas, Tyler, The Creator enters the body of a Ken doll in his video for "IFHY". His creepy plastic face and blank stare is enough to churn the toughest of stomachs. The final minute shifts focus to Hodgy Beats and Tyler driving around the suburbs, running over dolls and rapping to another Wolf cut titled "Jamba". Check out the two-part clip above. Wolf is out on April 2nd.
Passion Pit continue their support of last year's Gossamer , dancing through a girl's relationships in the video for "Cry Like a Ghost". That's exactly how directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert described the clip: "The idea is this girl is dancing through her relationships... we're trying to show how messy, confusing, funny, and sad and weird that is." The two employ some pretty cool techniques that make for well-made visual tale. Check it out above along with a making-of video below.
This week we've been treating you guys to some interesting bits of video from Biffy Clyro , in which they talk us through their fantastic new double LP, Opposites . Today is no different and following videos about " The Thaw ", " A Girl and His Cat ", and " Accident Without Emergency " we today get a look at what the band have to say about the rather intriguing sounding "Spanish Radio". The track itself is one that'll grab your attention immediately when you hear the album, [...]
Kendrick Lamar returned to the late night TV circuit once more last night. This time he was visiting the outdoor stage of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and with him he brought along two, to be expected, stellar performances. Taking highlights "Poetic Justice" and a slightly more child friendly version of "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe" from his still amazing album, good kid, m.A.A.d city , and he rocked the stage as well as ever. Check out the former at the top with the latter being available after the jump.
If you've been reading SKoA for a while you might be aware that I (Shey) have a bit of a love for everything Andy Hull, whether it be Manchester Orchestra , Bad Books or Right Away, Great Captain! Today I was happy to see an email in the inbox in regards to Bad Books and a session featuring Andy and Kevin Devine recorded at Baeble HQ . It features them performing some tracks acoustically along with some interesting interviews between tracks. They perform "Forest Whitaker", "You're a Mirror I Cannot Avoid", "It Never Stops". [...]
Django Django made their US TV debut earlier in the week in the shape of a performance of "Life's A Beach" on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno . In case you missed it on Wednesday evening, or like me you're in the UK and didn't have a chance to watch it at all because of that giant ocean between you and an American TV, hit play above.
