Mr. Jones hails from Cardiff. I have a soft spot in my heart for the Welsh. The tiny little baby country is home to so many lovely things like Gareth Bale (COYS!), Los Campesinos and the characters from The Submarine. Add to this list "So Long". A jangly (not a real word, don't care) acoustic pop melody that deserves airplay and adoration. Listen and your peril as you will most likely fall in love. Siôn has an a - I FORGOT CORGIS COME FROM WALES. Best country every. It's been decided. Anywho, you can get this song by buying the [...]
Vampire Weekend were gracious enough to drop another song of their soon to be released album. More delight and fun for your Saturday. Ya Hey!

Gypsy & The Cat are a delightful Australian band that have a new album out. I don't know if The Late Blue will blow your socks off, but it's a solid and enjoyable pop album. Take a listen to "Bloom" below.
NYC-based producer Harry Fraud released this song with Earl Sweatshirt and Riff Raff early this morning. This is a preview of Fraud's upcoming EP with Scion A/V titled High Tide, dropping May 7th, which features appearances by Action Bronson, French Montana, Smoke DZA & more (via Pitchfork ).

J. Cole wants everyone to know "that this right here is not a preview" for Born Sinner scheduled to drop on June 25th. Cole also wants us to know just about everything else in this highly introspective, thoughtful track. From "making it rain" etiquette to spending money on things near and dear to him, Cole pulls no punches on this track. He also has something fun to say about Tia and Tamera Mowry from Sister, Sister so keep your ears open for that.
Between having his hand in the creation of both Growing Pains and his son Robin, Alan Thicke is on one hell of a roll. All kidding aside, this by far the best song of the radio currently. Hit play and dance all day.
Thanks to All Things Go music for featuring this song today (by the way if you don't check out that blog every day you are missing out). Taped Rai hail from Sweden (man do I enjoy those Northern Europeans) and it seems like it's only a matter of time before this song is all over the radio. It's a pure electric jam, mixed with the vocal stylings of How to Dress Well. I mean did they write this for me?! It's awesome. Check out the official song above and the (debatably) better acoustic version below. Given what a terrible, atrocious, awful [...]

They may have the worst name is history of bad band names based of Race Car Drivers, but this song is a jam. It reminds me a little bit too much of a Cobra Starship song that I can't quite put my finger on with just a touch of Magic Man thrown in there. But no matter. The song is pure dream pop and synth goodness. Patterns EP came out this week .

Weirdness and lovely pop angels made the love baby Empire of the Sun . I keep waiting for Wiz Khalifa to come in a rock my world, but we might have to wait for his input . "Alive" is a great pop song. While it fails to reach the loft heights of "Walking on a Dream," it's still catchy enough to rock the radio and spawn some mashups. The most likely incredibly weird Ice On the Dune comes out June 18th.
When is Born Sinner dropping? I don't know and I'm pretty sure that Cole doesn't know either. What we do know is that this is the first single and it's a jam. Cole has always been one to be very secretive about his music. He'll pop on Twitter (@JColeNC) and drop an entire mixtape and then disappear for months. Signs are pointing to an album release real soon with the release of this video. Oh yeah, forgot to mention something - Miguel is currently the King of R&B. There, I said it.

Touring to promote the release of their latest album Naomi , the folk-rock quartet set up shop at the Brighton Music Hall this past Sunday to perform a refreshing lot of foot-stomping melodies born from the evergreens of the Pacific Northwest. I was first exposed to The Cave Singers at the Newport Folk Festival this past summer. Mingling with the crowds on that Saturday afternoon, I stumbled upon lead-singer Paul Quirk sucking the life out of a harmonica while guitarist Derek Fudesco sat hunched over his instrument, effortlessly plucking [...]
This band can do little wrong in my book. They feel a little like ABBA in this one. They just released their Recover EP and you can hear more tunes at their Soundcloud page .

I love this time of year. You wake up in the morning to the briskest of air only to be rocking a t-shirt mere hours later. The trees begin to bud, the daffodils and tulips peak their green heads out from beneath the mulch, and the old heater in my room stops its constant clicking and banging. What's that winter? The impending bully that is Summer is quietly beating you into submission? Music to my ears. It seems Catherine McCandless of Young Galaxy feels exactly the same way as she sings, "Here it comes again, the beautiful warm weather." Check [...]

Rogue Wave was just about the only band I listened to during the summer between my sophomore and junior years of college... which is very fitting as the band's newest single is entitled just that, "College." I wasn't a big fan of their last album Permalight , but the guys seem to be getting back to their old sound with this new material. Look for Rogue Wave's new album ( Nightingale Floors ) out June 4th.

It's officially at the point where I need to see Action Bronson and Ghostface Killlah in the same room. The vocal resemblance is eerily uncanny. This guy is just a rapping enigma and is just about ready to leave his imprint. If this spitting fire thing doesn't work out (which it most certainly will), him and Rick Ross need to do a buddy cop movie ASAP. Don't sleep on Lauriana either. I had a few "She definitely sounds like ____" moments with her. Still can't pinpoint it, but it's good.

FUNKY FRIDAY The Animal Liberation Orchestra is one of California's hidden gems. These classy dudes have been making music and putting on fantastic performances since their college days in Santa Barbara. ALO has reached that perfect level of success: they can tour the country, destroy clubs & theaters & festivals, but get to meet and mingle with fans afterwards. I've seen them play live about six times, and have chatted with them after every single show. That's a testament to their modesty and friendliness, two things that all bands should emulate. "Falling Dominoes" is off last summer's Sounds Like This , [...]

Los Angeles' Speak!'s latest release "Bulletproof Denali" is the latest banger for the "Westside Art Goon Craigslist Killer." This track goes hard, showing his penchant for humor and dope beats, and shows this MC is more than just a luxurious head of hair. Check the track below and the video here .

Ah, Rubblebucket. Where to begin? Wikipedia claims they are a "dance band that merges psychedelic indie rock and left field arrangements," and we all know Wiki is always right, so that description will do. To be honest, though, Rubblebucket is an anomaly. They are lead by trumpeter Alex Toth, who looks and acts like a man assembled from the spare body parts of Williamsburg's most eccentric hipsters. Lead singer and baritone sax player Kalmia Traver owns an infectious smile and serious collection of colorful leggings. I saw them last summer at Bonnaroo, and during "Came Out of a Lady," she hopped off the [...]

Most of our writes do a great job of introducing you (the reader) to great new music. I am not one of our great writers and am going to post something a bit old. We can call this Throwback Tuesday or something. I had the chance to catch the How To Dress Well / Sky Ferreira last night at Brighton Music Hall. Damn. Sky was ok. She did not seem that into the show to be honest. Anyone else have the chance to see her? Can you confirm if she is always is so surly. How To Dress [...]
