John Legend: Who Do We Think We Are (feat. Rick Ross)

John Legend: Who Do We Think We Are (feat. Rick Ross) It is hard to describe "soul" music sometimes.  Songs can either be identified as "has soul" or "doesn't have soul."  With that being said, this song has soul for days.  Combine Mr. Legend's airy-rasp with Rick Ross doing Rick Ross things and you can see why this is the first single chosen off of the highly anticipated "Love in the Future" album.  Though there have been a few delays, the album is slated for a tentative June 25th release date.  Yes, that means you should set a reminder in your iPhone, folks.

Magic Man: Texas

Magic Man: Texas More hot fire from Magic Man .

Danny Brown: Kush Coma

Danny Brown: Kush Coma Danny Brown took a different approach with this one.  Not often do you see a song that features the words "kush" and "coma" have such a fast-paced beat.   Skywlkr dropped something special here and made sure every stoner will be awake when this track comes on during 4/20.

CHVRCHES: Recover & The Mother We Share

CHVRCHES: Recover & The Mother We Share Well I missed this one. CHVRCHES are incredibly delightful and recently  rocked SXSW . Still working on their debut album, but these songs should give you enough to tide you over. Electro-pop at it's finest.

Justin Timberlake: Mirrors

Justin Timberlake - Mirrors
New visual for the second single off Justin Timberlake's latest album The 20/20 Experience . I wasn't a fan of Suit & Tie, but this definitely has my attention. Timberlake & Timbaland BFF.

Vampire Weekend: Diane Young & Step

Vampire Weekend: Diane Young & Step So yeah, what do you think? Tell us below. My take? Some unnecessary elements included, but overall it's pretty catchy and fun. Pretty on par for VW. Step is the B-Side. Much more casual and relaxed.

Kendrick Lamar: Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe (Remix) (feat. Jay-Z)

Autre Ne Veut: Counting

Autre Ne Veut: Counting "I want no other", the French translation of Arthur Ashin's stage name, speaks volumes about the overall tone of his music. Operating out of Brooklyn, NY, Ashin blends R&B with ambient soul-pop, exploring themes of human instinct and raw emotion. "Counting", a track from his recent LP Anxiety , is a perfect example. You have to be in a certain frame of mind to absorb Arthur's sounds, though they deserve notable mention nonetheless.

Kings of Convenience: Mrs. Cold

Kings of Convenience: Mrs. Cold FUNKY FRIDAY This groovy acoustic duo is based all the way out in Bergen, Norway. "Mrs. Cold" is off their third and most recent album Declaration of Dependence . This song is as smooth as Vincent Chase. Erlend Oye, one half of Kings of Convenience, is also the guitarist & vocalist of The Whitest Boy Alive, who have been featured before on Funky Friday. Check them out here . Enjoy the music, everybody.

Justin Timberlake: Suit and Tie (Four Tet Remix)

Justin Timberlake: Suit and Tie (Four Tet Remix) UK born electronic producer Kieran Hebden has been quite a busy bee as of late. Releasing music since the beginning of the year-that-got-away-from-the-Ma yans, the man recently released a remix of JT's title track "Suit and Tie" from his forthcoming LP. After hearing this mix and the first two singles from The 20/20 Experience , SR gives you permission to renew your crush or bromance with the singer, songwriter, actor, dancer and whatever else he has tucked under his lapels.

Dangermuffin: Moonscapes

Dangermuffin: Moonscapes These three hippies hail from Folly Beach, South Carolina. "Moonscapes" has brought Dangermuffin their most recognition to date. Today, they tour the country in a large couple of vans and play small clubs and bars. "Moonscapes" reflects the band's playful cleverness and their complete virtuosity. But above all, the song is just plain old catchy. Enjoy.

Justin Timberlake: The 20/20 Experience

Justin Timberlake: The 20/20 Experience Justin Timberlake is having himself one hell of a March. In addition to hosting one of the better SNL episodes I've seen in recent memory, the crooner is currently preparing his much anticipated third album, The 20/20 Experience due out next week. Those of you who are itching to get their paws on the LP are in luck, as the entire album is currently free to stream in the iTunes music store. Click here to listen.

Earl Sweatshirt: Whoa (feat. Tyler, The Creator)

Earl Sweatshirt - WHOA
New track off Earl's debut album Doris, which drops later this year on Tan Cressida / Columbia (Tan Cressida is Earl's imprint with distribution through Sony / Columbia). Tyler made the sparse, synthy beat and directed the video under his Wolf Haley moniker, with Earl displaying his lyrical prowess and ridiculous flow on what promises to be one of the most heavily anticipated albums of 2013.

Viceroy: Chase Us Around (feat. Madi Diaz)

Viceroy: Chase Us Around (feat. Madi Diaz) Another freaking Monday. These days just seem to keep popping up. But at least we appear to be digging out of the deep freeze of the last few months. Beach days are so close I can almost taste the sand. Ease into the week by playing this song on repeat.

Drake: 5AM in Toronto

Drake: 5AM in Toronto Drake let this go late the other night, rapping his Canadian ass off over a very dope, Tron-esque beat produced by Vinylz & Boi-1da .

Alt-J: Tessellate

Alt-J: Tessellate FUNKY FRIDAY If your friends aren't already talking about Alt-J, chances are they will be soon. With their most extensive North American tour to date underway, as well as summer stops at Bonnaroo & Coachella, it's safe to say that this British band is on the brink of something huge. "Tessellate" is the third song on their brilliant debut album "An Awesome Wave," and it highlights all that is intriguing about this young band- avant-garde vocal melodies, layered percussion, and more than a few unexpected twists. Alt-J is remarkable, beyond classification. They need to be heard to be believed. Chiggity [...]
