Just 6 months after the release of Break It Yourself , Andrew Bird is back with another effort in Hands Of Glory . The 8-song LP compliments its predecessor, further proving Bird to be a master of his genre. Some have noted this as an academic piece for Bird as he shifts gears to incorporate themes that directly reflect the americana he has embodied throughout his career. With an overall rustic feel, Hands Of Glory is yet another mark of Bird's expansive artistic capacity. Stream the album in full after the jump.

I wish I had some delightful Halloween tunes to share with y'all. But I don't. I do have this song from Antonio Paul . It's delightful but not about ghouls. Oh well. Listen below. We have featured these guys before and I will say it again; Australia is producing some fine indie pop these days.

The hour draws near. The time when we transform ourselves into beast, villain and demon. We lather on paint and shroud ourselves with masks and fabrics to go forth into the night. What better way to unite the living and the dead than on the dance floor? Make sure you grasp tightly with hand, paw or claw to the evening's refreshment as you court the neighboring pride of lions with some fancy footwork.

I tend to get anxious whenever I hear that an artist has remixed a track from M832s knockout LP Hurry Up We're Dreaming . The album is a work of art cover-to-cover and the thought of tampering with it gives me the shakes. However, some can do it right. Like MAPS, for instance. They've turned "Steve McQueen" into a looping dream-synth extension of its original self, maintaining the track's integrity throughout. We can all breath a little easier now.

My mind does not associate Kentucky with indie pop, but that's mainly because I associate Kentucky with KFC. The second my brain starts thinking about KFC it's lights out and I burry myself in Mashed Potato Bowl. Forutnaley, prior to passing out due to a food coma I stumbled upon The Pass who happen to hail from Kentucky and produce very nice sounding pop music. Pretty Much Amazing premiered the second single from the Pass' second album , Melt . It's delightful, catchy and fun. Just like the imaginary westie I don't own yet. Listen below [...]

Fall in love all over again with these two. The Canadian duo are back to steal our hearts again. It was seven years ago that I first heard "Living Room," and with every album since they have managed to surprise me in some way. Heartthrob , so far, feels like Tegan & Sara have leaned more heavily towards the pop sound of their indie pop labeling. I'm ok with it as it's lead to some catchy as hell songs. If you have not heard it be sure to check out " Closer " as well.

It is that time again. We start to ponder the year that was. We conjure up lists and top 20s, only to struggle with the internal debate of what gets our vote and what doesn't. Best start flipping through your binders full of CDs...

Ever since Lord Huron appeared on the scene with their stellar 2010 releases of Into The Sun and Mighty EPs, we here at SR have anxiously awaited their return with a full length disc. Lonesome Dreams has proven a remarkable blend of americana and tropicalia from the L.A-based folksters, firmly marking their territory alongside the likes of Fleet Foxes and Junip. I was able to pile into the Great Scott in Allston, MA with fellow admirers last Thursday for a sold out gig. Lord Huron played humbly and [...]

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are set to drop their LP The Heis t on October 9th, but NPR posted a stream of the album here .

A dreary week it has been. Tracks by Rhye and Marika Hackman have definitely set the mood. We then say, "Hey, enough of this rain and fog" and dry off with the help of a classic string-and-drum tune from First Aid Kit. And you know what? No morning commute for the lot of us tomorrow. Let this pleasant feeling mingle with the serenade of Lord Huron.

The homie ATG just released his remix of Danny Brown's track " Grown Up ," which dropped back in June. Danny's frenetic vocals sound dope over some choice sample loops by the NYC-based producer.

Solé Bicycles, an outfit specializing in fixed gear custom builds, is based out of Venice, CA and is run by two dudes from USC. Since 2009, they have been building "mobile canvases" similar to Boston-based Superb Bicycle . Recently, they've begun a monthly mixtape series reflecting the cruise music that defines two wheel transit. So far, the "fixtapes" range from 802s funk remixes to modern day electro-pop.
