Using field recordings of New York City traffic, smashing light bulbs, and dim bars, Tubetops creates a mysterious and haunting sonic environment in which Fletcher's vocals find a perfect home. Although its subject matter is quite depressing, Pique is a beautiful and intricately layered song. It seems as though the band's remaining members are getting along just fine alone. I'm a bit late to the game on this one, but a recent trip to Maine introduced me to this little gem and I feel so inclined to stop and share. Atoms For Peace (Thom Yorke of Radiohead, producer Nigel Godrich, and Flea of The Red Hot Chili Peppers) released a new single today on iTunes. Most are likening the new song to those off of Yorke's solo effort The Eraser , and I must agree. It's a real trip.

Yes that's right. School Of Seven Bells , authors of the incredible Half Asleep among other songs, just released the best cover of 2012. Dear Mr. Wayne, you have been defeated. Try to listen to this just once, just try. Overall it has been a great year NYC dream pop duo with the release of Ghostory coupled with this gem.
