The day has finally come: Jack Colwell & The Owls ' full-length Picture Window is out! I've been a fan of Jack and his classical take on chamber pop for years and it is with great pleasure I present you this stream of Picture Window . It's out now on iTunes and will be celebrated at a launch party in Sydney June 6.
The Irrepressibles , the chamber pop outfit led by Jamie McDermott, are set to release the follow-up Nude to their 2010 debut Mirror Mirror . We received some teasers some time ago but now they have unveiled the video for Arrow , the first single to be taken from Nude . When you were the age 15 they shot the arrow at you You put that arrow in became an angel too. But you were proud to be you
Antony Hegarty has written a new song for Coral Rekindling Venus , a new film by Lynette Wallwort which explores the fragile beauty of coral reefs. His piece, which also soundtracks the trailer above, is titled Rise and is -of course- poignantly beautiful. You can download it for free below or in exchange for a little donation over at the Coral Rekindling Venus website . mp3 Antony and the Johnsons - Rise

I have no idea why Alt-J (∆) haven't been featured on here before. I mean, they have a ∆ in their name, their debut album has the word "wave" in it and their sound is as colorful as the disco naïveté logo. This is much pop as it is indie, but more importantly: very enjoyable. The voice and rhythms remind me of Young Magic but with hints of Clock Opera, overall creating a very interesting and appealing sound. An Awesome Wave is out next week, available to pre-order here and streaming in its full [...]

How to Dress Well has announced the release of his long-awaited new full-length Total Loss , which will be released sometime this autumn on Weird World and Acéphale. Here's a first taste in his distinct & perfect, whistful lo-fi r&b style, Ocean Floor For Everything .

Jessie Ware goes all romantic on her cover of Bobby Caldwell's What You Won't Do For Love , produced by Sampha (who does some subtle backing vocals too). "Some people go around the world for love, but they may never find what they dream of…" Yes, that Jessie Ware album is going to magnificent.

Imaginary Family is the project of Joanna Isselé, a lady that was born in the French Alps but currently resides in Ghent, Belgium. Her parents gave her an acoustic guitar for her 15th birthday, and off she was. Romantic folk is her thing, yet it is a very minimalistic take on folk with the sparse guitar arrangement - maybe because she's left-handed but plays the right-handed guitar upside down. If you like the folk of First Aid Kit and Marissa Nadler, you will admire Imaginary Family. She doesn't only share first names with Joanna Newsom, but there's [...]
Woodkid took some time off directing videos for Lana Del Rey and Drake and shot the video for his highly anticipated follow-up single Run Boy Run. After stunning the world last year with the jaw-dropping video for the powerful Iron , Yoann Lemoine strikes again with Run Boy Run . A full-length The Golden Age is on its way - until then you can just watch this piece of art over and over again.

Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine ) teamed up with Dev Hynes, better known as Blood Orange , for a special version of the former's Never Let Me Go . In essence it's the same song, but this version has a bit of a lo-fi R&B glam-pop vibe - and that works surprisingly well.

"Rhythms from West Africa a re integrated with voices from Harlem, conversations about race and identity between writers and ethnomusicologists are constructed, speeches from activists are conjoined with the voices of prisoners." Romare uses samples from songs, speeches, interviews, field recordings and combines this with twostep, all to explore the connection between African and African-American music. The result is a very forward-thinking, unique four-track EP Meditations on Afrocentrism (which is out now on Black Acre) that takes the best out of both worlds. Just like the artwork, it [...]
