City and Colour - Northern Wind by VagrantRecords City & Colour's much anticipated third album, Little Hell , will be out June 7th. New song, " Northern Wind " is an absolutely haunting and stunning. The instantly intimate song sprawls over 4 minutes of reverbed vocals over a simple and warm acoustic guitar. This is the second track City and Colour has released, the first being Fragile Bird , and it should generate some buzz as both of these songs are really wonderful to listen to. Pre order [...]
Kingsley Flood - I Don't Wanna Go Home NPR got the honors of releasing Boston's Kingsley Flood's brand new single, I Don't Wanna Go Home. This song shows them stretching the genre of Americana with blues, horns & rock elements Kingsley Flood and redefining everything you've heard from them. If you haven't seen them live, this song gives a better representation of how their live shows play out. A raucous head bobbing, foot stomping good time that makes you dance, holler at the top of your lungs like the protagonist [...]

Yarn Owl - Go In a sea of shimmering folk music with the likes of Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses, MMJ or John Vanderslice, Yarn Owl a PNW band, glimmers and shines much like these predecessors. Yarn Owl has released a beautiful sounding album in 'Montaña y Caballo'. Their jangly guitars and ethereal vocals create an intimate and very lush sound that will have fans coming back to again and again. Definitely worth the $5 tag they are putting on the album. Get over to their bandcamp ... and buy it. [...]

Rocky Votolato and Matt Pond PA cover The Human League The AV Club is running through their series Undercover where bands cover some really popular songs of yesteryear. In this video, Rocky & Matt cover the male/female duet 'Don't You Want Me' from the Human League. Its one of my favorite 802s tracks, and well this is an interesting interpretation for sure.
