Here's a new slow-building hymn from Julianna Barwick , taken from her forthcoming, long-teased  Nepenthe LP. By now, it's pretty much established that  Ryan Hemsworth  will never not impress us with whatever he does. Latest on that list is "Perfectly," the lead track of his new Still Awake   EP that's slated to drop next week on his  website . Young Galaxy does a bang-up job channelling The Horrors on their remix of  Rachel Zeffira  (who conveniently happens to be linked to The Horrors' Faris Badwan) and her excellent The Deserters track "Break The Spell." Ramsay + co. fill the space with a similar sort of churning/sprawling psych, hiding tight loops inside of others, and stacking them until the whole thing begins to resemble the krautrock version of a Matryoshka doll. Zeffira's  Break The Spell single is out now on Paper [...]

Our perpetual obsession over  DIANA 's timeless, undeniable single " Born Again " has no end in sight, as the track finally gets the video treatment it so rightly deserves. It couldn't be more fitting either, as director  Geoffrey Pugen  drowns  Carmen Elle in a wash of blinding neon, perfectly reflecting the setting carved out by the band's white-hot synths. Better still, this video rides in on the news that DIANA's self-titled debut full-length is set for an August 20 release, thanks to our good friends [...]

Ladyfrnd 's excellent " Sunday " is still one of our most compulsively listened-t o tracks from last year , so it shouldn't come as a surprise that we're pretty stoked on news of a full-length debut from the Vancouver duo. The self-titled LP is slated for a July 15 release on Hybridity Music , and while most of its material is pulled from last year's EP, it makes for a good excuse to revisit the gems of that release, like delicate/dreamy " Un Petit Message ": The post [...]

Here's another magnetic, crystalline single from Stockholm four-piece  Kate Boy , who show a bit more teeth and a lot more zeal than we knew they had. "The Way We Are" doesn't differ too much from the blueprints that the band's already laid out for themselves, but it towers much, much higher, reminiscent of the early/ Deep Cuts -era days of The Knife .  Fitting, as  Kate Akhurst is channelling even more of  Karin Dreijer Andersson than she was before (which was already a lot).
