This week, we have some very special guests here on Eye on the Triangle. We are excited to welcome Jonathan Smith, Andy Walsh, and Caroline Yopp to our studio to discuss the issues that matter to you, the N.C. State community. Polls close tonight at midnight, so if you haven't voted yet, be sure to do so. In addition, we bring you stories from Ag Awareness Week, the group Liberty in North Korea's visit, the imPACKt awards, and a visit by Herman Cain to Wake County. One of my favorite events of last fall was Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival , located in Pittsboro, N.C. Camping out with your friends, seeing incredible live music, and living off campfire food and veggie things for the weekend is a cure for anything that's been getting you down. And it's back again for its 10th spring installment, April 19-22. We were busy working on tonight's show when we recieved some bad news. Baseball will be broadcasting beginning at 6 p.m., which means that there will be no Eye on the Triangle this week. Unfortunately, there is also a baseball game next week at the same time, so there won't be a show at 7 p.m. on Tuesday either. We are working on finding another time to broadcast. Stay tuned!

It's time for our first spring Fridays on the Lawn this year! It will take place Friday, March 30 on Harris Field, 6:00PM-8:00PM. Besides FREE food, raffles, and prizes, two awesome local bands will be performing on the lawn. Mipso Trio  is a folk rock band made up of three UNC students. The band recently sold out Cat's Cradle and is making a name for themselves in our community. Clay Pigeons is a four-piece out of Raleigh. The video for the track from The Clearing features an inquisitive child's journey with fish. Although that sounds silly, the video might have you in tears by the end. Spring Break is right around the corner, and we're just as ready as anyone else for it! Before we clock out, we've got one more show! This week Andrew and Grant cover the smoking issue on our campus, Deondre' has a discussion about torture, and Rebekah covers the upcoming Greek Step-Off! It's going to be a great show, so tune in!

Tonight's Local Beat will be starting at 5 p.m. while we showcase some brand new tunes by musicians from our state. Bones for Tinder At 6 p.m. the interviews will be starting up as we welcome  Justin Robinson & the Mary Annettes onto the program for the first time. Due to a baseball  game there will be no Local Beat this evening. It's the Wolfpack's first game of the season and they will be taking on the Marshall Thundering Herd  right here in Raleigh at Doak Field at 3 p.m. Last season NCSU went 35-27 overall and made it to the Columbia Regionals in the NCAA tournament before falling to Stetson on June 5, 2011. Since then, NCSU has accumulated a nice recruiting class and have many players back again to try and win the ACC Championship for the first time since 1992. [...]

For Valentine's day this year, AC Entertainment decided to give its fans one of the best loving gifts any music festival-goer could ask for, the lineup for Bonnaroo's 11th year. The Joy Formidable @ Cat's Cradle The headliners include Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phish and The Beach Boys. What I found particularly neat about this year's lineup is many of the acts chosen for Bonnaroo have made visits to the triangle's venues in the past year or plan to in the next few months - The Beach [...]

North Carolina hip-hop collective Kooley High will be stopping by the WKNC studios tonight, Feb. 11, on Real RnB & Hip-Hop Radio. Tune in at 10 p.m. as Mir.I.am interviews Charlie Smarts, Tab-One, Rapsody, Foolery, The Sinopsis and Ill Digitz for the first time. Kooley High recently released their sophomore album titled David Thompson after the great NC State basketball player. Find out more about the album here .

2/7/2012 For this week's Eye on the Triangle, Will Allen interviews some members of Vote Against, a group campaigning against Proposition 1, up for vote this spring. Contributor Mark Herring has some thoughts on the always-controversial Charles Darwin as well as the war in Afghanistan. Deondre Jones has some thoughts about our fast paced way of life. As always, we've got one eye on the arts, weather, news, and current events around campus.

Tonight on The Local Beat we are introducing two bands who have just recently arrived to our airwaves. At 5 p.m. we are greeting Jeff Shields, who has a wonderful electronica solo act called Kleptonaut . Kleptonaut released its newest album,  The Golden Age of Space Travel, in November 2011, and it is full of beautifully synthesized instrumentals and wonderfully produced special effects. Jeff is also quite a character with a great sense of humor so there is no doubt he will be an entertaining guest. [...]
