For some reason, I tend to get all excited with music from Major Lazer or really anything related. Maybe I've become a fanboy? Eh well, the music is just really good and tends to give me a lot of positive energy. Yet, one of the more mellow tunes in their arsenal is "Get Free," which now has a remix from an 18 year old producer that goes by BLKNGLD . It's not an official release and no word from the Major Lazer camp if they approve, but this kid did the song justice. He took [...]

I'm one who has been pretty unamused and skeptical of most tracks Lil Wayne has been releasing lately, but this track called "Terrorists (I’m Good)" featuring Meek Mill is pretty damn good. This is apparently one of the leftover tracks that did not make the cut on Wayne's recent album I am Not A Human Being II . The hell if I should know why he left this off, considering this is better than most the stuff on that record, but that's alright we at least get to enjoy the song now. Stream it below. [...]

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. has been working hard on new music since their 2011 debut album It's A Corporate World and since we won't get that record until later this year, the band decided to unveil a 4 track EP called Patterns . We first found out about this last month when they released a song called " If You Didn't See Me (Then You Weren't On The Dancefloor) " and now follow that up with another song called "Hiding." The sing-a-long vibes, group singing, and the feel good energy is clearly here on this track [...]
Earlier today after Jay-Z dropped a new banger, Kanye took to Twitter saying he felt inspired and that Pusha T had something for us. And he wasn't lying as he dropped off a tune called "Numbers on the Boards" featuring a chill and somewhat simplistic sounding beat. This is just another fresh jam from Pusha to hold us over until his debut solo album arrives later in the year. Stream the cut below. Fresh? [...]

Hailing from Hawaii is a producer named Aaron Carmack , aka Mr. Carmack , who creates a blend of trap, hip hop, and dance music into a tight fusion of dope beats. He has steadily been gaining attention and other producers like RL Grime, GTA. S-Type , and a few more are showing their support for the Hawaiian native. He is back though with a new EP of two tracks "Birth Control" and "Hopscotch" via Jeffree 's. These two tracks have a little less hip hop, but keeps the electronic banger aspect intact. As mentioned on [...]

Well, pretty unexpected from Jay-Z to release a new song called "Open Letter," yet the timing and lyrics could not be more relevant. Recently, he and his wifey Beyonce went on a trip to Cuba, which Republican lawmakers are investigating if they broke the law. Apparently, because their money funded the oppression of the Cuban people or some shit. Note the fact that they were celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary and visited the children's theatre company, an art institute, and the country's national contemporary dance troupe. So Hova discusses his feelings a bit about the trip [...]

Sid Sriram 's latest original tune called "Winter Mind" has quickly become my new favorite song and he followed that up with a brand new music video. Directed by Doom & Gloom , it shows the contrast between an outer calm and inner chaos. It's actually quite different from most videos out there as the filters and effects are what bring this otherwise simple concept to life. The track is from Sid's upcoming project West Coast Nightfall: Before Dusk releasing on April 17th. Watch below. Fresh? [...]

If you didn't hear the news yet, Funkmaster Flex is releasing a double mixtape called Who You Mad At Me Or Yourself , which will feature this new Action Bronson track "Live From Kissena Blvd." The Queens rapper showcases like he has on most tracks, why he was voted as XXL's 2013 Freshman list and why every hip hop fan should pay attention to him. He flows over a Statik Selektah beat, which he needs no introduction himself. Together, these two create a banger and you'll be able to hear more goodies [...]

While Mississippi rapper/producer Big K.R.I.T. continues to work on his Sophomore album, he dropped off a new mixtape called King Remembered In Time . If you didn't realize, the title of his mixtape is what his stage name represents, but I'm sure you all took notice (I didn't at first). On this tape there is 17 tracks, with almost all of them being produced by K.R.I.T. himself and features from Bun B, Future, Wiz Khalifa , and more. Stream and download below. Fresh? [...]

Giraffage is a San Francisco based producer who not long ago released an excellent instrumental mixtape called Needs . I've been listening to it off and on since he released that, but now he returns with something new. His latest release is a remix of Janet Jackson's 2001 hit "Someone To Call My Lover." In his version he plays around with the tempo, changes up some of the electronic sounds, and keeps the groove fresh. You can stream the entire cut below and also download for free. Fresh? [...]

Last week, there was a mix from Ryan Hemsworth for Diplo and Friends radio show, which was actually from March, floating around. Yet it was just a stream of what Hemsworth came up with, but today he tweeted out a link to download his hour long mix for free. As with most of his production, he takes on multiple genres and delivers some bangers. Check out the tracklist below and download the mix for free right here . Fresh? R. Kelly – Real Talk (Hemsworth’s La Valse [...]

It feels like it has been forever since rap trio Gorilla Warfare Tactics released some music, which a year is a long time. However, the other day they breathed some life into their Facebook page announcing a new song and project, which will be called Zoology. To hold us over until the April 30th release, the boys dropped a cut called "drugDILLA" for fans to download. As soon as the beat kicks in, you feel like these guys never left and they still have that hip hop touch. Stream and download below. Fresh? [...]

The production duo of Lunice and Hudson Mohawke or as they call themselves TNGHT , returned with a track called "Acrylics." They initially premiered the song over at Zane Lowe's BBC1 radio show, but now it is officially out and on iTunes . As with their previous material, the two are creating new sounds and trap elements that previously haven't been experimented with and it's what makes TNGHT so damn good. Stream this dirty ass jam at the link below. Fresh? [...]
Wait, Kid Cudi and Compton's Kendrick Lamar on one track? Bless this Monday. Today Cudder released "Solo Dolo Pt. 2" featuring the California spitter because well, Indicud leaked out on the web. While that kinda sucks for artists, it can still boost sales and buzz about the music, so Cudi ain't even mad bro. You tweeted out a link for this track and shared his thoughts on the album leak, which basically indicated he's not tripping. The album is out April 23rd, but for now check out "Solo Dolo Pt. 2." [...]

In my area of the Lehigh Valley, there are quite a lot of talented bands and artists, but keeping up with all them is a challenge. An upcoming rapper who is generating some buzz for the area is Phenom , who is working on a brand new project called Boy Meets World . After checking out some of his material, we decided to be on a sponsor on this once it is released. Yet, while he works on the project he delivered the first new song called "Lord Please" produced by Taz Taylor . This is a [...]

Austin, Texas has such a rich musical background and tons of great musicians are making the city even more proud, like singer/songwriter/guitar player Max Frost . His latest tune "White Lies" is funky, it's got soul, and is an all-around feel-good tune, perfect for the usual Monday grind. The core of this song is pop, but as the beat kicks in you feel a multitude of things, all of which are positive. As mentioned on his Soundcloud page as well, he wrote/produced/recorded and performed all the instruments on this song. Now that is talent. Stream "White Lies" [...]

While the alt/folk genre might not get as much love on here as it probably should, you'll always bet that anything Sam Beam aka Iron & Wine puts out, I will be posting about it. I've always had a place in my music collection for his music and I am excited about his upcoming fifth studio album called Ghost On Ghost . While the record is not out until next week, the good folks at NPR already have the full thing available to stream. Loving this album so far and although his sound [...]

The growing buzz around Ghost Loft or the moniker for LA producer Danny Choi has steadily been building and the anticipation for his debut full-length is probably at it's highest right now. His latest tune called "So High" is a ambient and alternative journey that leaves you with positive energy. It's a relaxed song, but the layers of sounds and vocals are incredible. Not only do I expect some more lush music from Choi, but I can guarantee there will be a ton of great remixes by other producers of his songs. Stream below. [...]

Yasiin Bey , formally known as Mos Def has been in the news lately for numerous music projects, one which includes a collaborative effort with producer Mannie Fresh . Yet, while there was good news about that, a song leaked out called "The Light Is Not Afraid of The Dark" with production from Kanye West . That should get your eyes to light up a bit because the duo are a solid match and Bey brings that lyricism. While it was only a live version that appeared before, we now have a CD quality cut of [...]
