Taking the Smashing Pumpkins' tune "Shake Down 19793 quite literally, Good Night Keaton has decided to remake one of his favorite songs ever by turning it into something more dance friendly and in tune with the title of the track. For those who don't know, GNK is the drummer for Miami Horror, so he certainly knows how to spruce up a song this alternative and entrenched with 902s, indie-rock goodness. So expect to hear some fantastic, mood-setting production to be worked into this one! All in all, this remake is f-ing amazing (and free)! [...]

After coming out with their winning remix of Flume's song "Sleepless," Sydney based duo Cosmo's Midnight have decided to put together another edit, this time altering JaysWays' track "Surround Me!" If you're a sucker for pitched vocals, look no further than this remix. The duo do a superb job of making the song seem more sensual by bending JaysWays' voice to sound feminine at times; almost creating a duet between the two vocal states. One of the most creative remixes I've heard this year, it would be wise of you to start following Cosmo's Midnight on soundcloud [...]

Yesterday, Gold Panda shared via his facebook page a mysterious new track; a track that wasn't even his own. Although the producer put together the percussion and samples of the song, this piece comes from up and coming songstress Sofia Kourtesis ; and before yesterday, I had never even heard of her. But take one listen to her latest original "Las Magnolias" and I bet she'll be a name you won't quickly forget! Seriously, Sofia's ethereal voice and Gold Panda's mystical melodies make for a great, wintry soundtrack!
In continuation of the Dutch theme from the previous post, Kraak & Smaak have decided to share with their fans an unofficial remix of the Chromatic's song "Kill For Love!" They made this sometime last year, and I'm almost upset that it has taken so long for us ton finally hear this remarkable song. It seems the trio really enjoyed making this one, and it definitely shows! These deliciously, deep grooves will be on repeat in my iPod for days to come!
Although he originally thought Sam Smith's track "Lay Me Down" was cheesy, Dutch producer Saux still felt the need to remix this undeniably beautiful tune! And we're certainly glad he did. Taking the song and applying some head-bobbing bass, euphoric vocal loops, and uplifting chord progressions, the young producer has put together a free-download that significantly improves upon the original by giving it a little bit more dancefloor "oomph!"

The other day, upcoming Irish producer Replete shared with his fans this wonderful edit he put together a while back. A mash-up between Shlohmo's "Seriously" and Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On," this track reaches levels of sensuality that I didn't even think were possible. It's remarkable how well these two songs work together! I hope you enjoy this free-download as much as I have been!

You know what I love more than Tegan and Sara? It's sort of sad to say, but I thoroughly enjoy remixes of the duo more than their original work. The latest in the string of remixes of the band comes from New York's own, the Knocks ! Nothing short of spectacular, the Knocks have once again electrified a pop track, turning into a "feel-good" banger of epic proportions!
