Sometimes people say "You had to be there." Well this was one of those times. It was one of the most energetic and generally fun shows I have been to in a long time. Both Family of the Year and The Mowgli's danced around so vigorously while playing that it was difficult to capture the rambunctiousness. Yonder Mountain String Band is a new breed of Blue Grass! There is Blue Grass, there is Blue Grass fused with Rock, and then there is YMSB rocking it out on all strings! No one goes to a YMSB show to sit on their "grass" (had to fit in a pun.) There are no slow melodies, people come to dance! It baffles my mind that Langhorne Slim can keep bringing this kind of energy every night. They gave the people what they wanted; a foot stomp'n, banjo play'n, hootenanny of a night! Recently playing on Conan , Langhorne Slim have been on the road promoting their vivacious new album "The Way We Move." Once again proving they can stand out among the rest.

This was an amazing singer/songwriter's night at Neumos! Tomo Nakayama (of Grand Hallway) kicked off the night with his unique sound and powerful blasts of energy! Willy Mason is a musician's musician. He has toured with everyone form Mumford and sons to Radiohead and now he has scaled up to playing Kitchen Sessions . He has a sound that takes you back to a simpler time, his songs are whimsical yet deep which I believe fulfills a void in current music. On Saturday, February 9th the House of Blues Boston offered refuge from snow storm "Nemo" to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay and their supporters. The event's goal was to raise funds and awareness for the organization. They have put the call out for male volunteers to become Big Brothers to 1,000 boys in Mass Bay who are currently on the waiting list for a Big. By Adam Richert Kevin Murphy (Lead singer of the Moondoggies) captivated the diverse congregation at the All Pilgrims Church in the Capital Hill neighborhood of Seattle through his raw and heartfelt songs. The Moondoggies front man played a casual set which felt as if you were watching a friend in a jam session at your house. This warm and inviting show allowed fans to experience his music on a more personable level.
