Even though we already reviewed Quasimoto 's new Yessir Whatever compilation, we wanted to show some love to standout, previously rare "The Front". It's one of the most serious Lord Quas cuts out there, partially because the guy behind the pitch-shifted alien (Madlib) handles a majority of the vocals to get some "stress of my chest." He also provides the superbly blunted-funk instrumental that rides out behind his rhymes. Check it out below. As an added bonus, did you know that Quasimoto was officially recognized by the city of [...]

I have to give it to Mount Kimbie for tracking down King Krule for a feature on their new single "You Took Your Time". It isn't often we get to hear some new material from Krule, but it is a true treat every time we do. And "You Took Your Time" is no different, as expansive Mount Kimbie production allows Krule to explore new vocal territories. And, as usual, the 18-year-old UK native takes full advantage of the opportunity. Mount Kimbie's Cold Spring Fault Less Youth is due out May 28. This [...]

We've heard the leaks , showered them with praise , and anxiously anticipated Tree's new mixtape, Sunday School II: When Church Lets Out . And, without further adieu, the project has arrived. The Chicago rapper-producer keeps the features to a minimum, allowing his gruff, instantly recognizable voice lead the way. You might be drawn to the joints with Danny Brown and Roc Marciano , and I wouldn't blame you for that, but make sure you play this one all the way through. It's a keeper and then some . You can download/stream the [...]

Chuck Inglish 's new EP, Droptops , hits the web on May 23 and, so far, sounds like it's filled with certified summer jams. " Drops " was ill and on that Cool Kids tip, and the same goes for follow-up single "Tangerine". This time, Chuck gets a little help from Aston Matthews and Kashflow, both of whom talk their shit over the thick-as-molasses production. As if the EP wasn't enough, by the way, he's got the Convertibles mixtape coming in the summer. Wonderful.

With Extended Play due out June 18, Statik Selektah's here to further build the anticipation for the album by revealing its loaded guest list. As he's done with previous LPs, he's corralled quite an impressive lineup of guest features that range from the bigger names to those in his close circle. That means you'll hear everyone from Raekwon to Wais P to Action Bronson to Ea$y Money to Mac Miller. There's also a track called "My Hoe" featuring Evidence, Blu, and Reks. Yes, please. Peep the loaded guest list below. 01 Reloaded f. Pain In [...]

There are a lot of acts to get excited about in 2013, but very few stack up with JMSN . Already making a name for himself with a number of high-level collaborations, today we showcase his solo experience. Thanks to a live performance that was recorded in Red Bull Studios in Los Angeles, we have five songs to feast on. Captured with a crisp live backing band, JMSN's infectious vocals run through a captivating five-song array. Stay tuned for more from JMSN this year. This will certainly not be the last we hear from him.

While we'll have to wait until later this year to hear his proper debut album, the now-retired Big Baby Gandhi just dropped an EP produced entirely by Yuri Beats. America Eats Its Babies is a five-track free release that will no doubt make you wish Gandhi never hung it up. You can't blame the guy, though, especially after you read his interview with XXL about the EP, his retirement, and more. Hopefully we get to hear that album sooner rather than later, but for now let's all just soak in America [...]

As you might already know, the Roots have their own special musical guests on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon that sometimes don't take the main stage for all to see when the show airs. And earlier this week, Bilal stopped by the set to sit in with the Legendary Roots Crew and thankfully someone had their camera ready. We're now seeing footage of Bilal leading the group through a solid rendition of Steely Dan classic "Black Cow", which you might recall was also covered by Phonte, Zo!, and Sy Smith. Peep Bilal and the Roots' [...]

The soundtrack for The Great Gatsby received a ton of hate mostly based on songs like Jay-Z's "100$ Bill" along with Beyonce and Andre 30002s "cover" of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black". But that didn't stop a good amount of folks from picking up a copy of the OST. In fact, it landed at No. 2 on Billboard in its first week and moved 135,488 copies. That's better than most albums these days, though to be fair most albums don't have the star power and advertising budget of this thing. Anyway, hopefully this gets [...]

Before Javis FauX brings his Deal With It Vol. 3 on Potholes Music, the globe-trotting producer is looking back into his discography. Essential is a compilation of some of his best work over the past few years, meaning that his longtime listeners will no doubt recognize the material here. For those just catching on to his talents, you could not ask for a better introduction into FauX's diverse, stunning approach to production. It also serves as a nice lil' (FREE) holdover until DWI Vol. 3 gets here. Download: Javis FauX - [...]

After sharing lead single " Get It ", Killer Mike and El-P are yet another step closer to the release of their collaborative rap album Run The Jewels . Taking to Twitter, El-P has revealed that their free release is complete, and it will feature production from himself, alongside co-production from Little Shalimar and Wilder Zoby. Furthermore, the album will sport features from the legendary Prince Paul, as well as Big Boi of Outkast. Not too shabby if you ask me. Stay tuned as we look for more news regarding the release of Run The Jewels [...]

Our anticipation for Mayer Hawthorne 's new album, Where Does This Door Go , has hit a new level with the release of "Her Favorite Song". It's the Detroit native's latest single and it's funky, slightly dusty, and as infectious as it gets. There are also some choice guest vocals from Jessie Ware, who sounds just as natural over the Oak-produced instrumental as her host. WDTDG drops July 16. You can listen to "Her Favorite Song" below. The Nashville duo known as Future Unlimited have been cranking out tunes for a few years now, but it looks like they might have just received their big break. Taking on famed actor and director Shia Labeouf, Future Unlimited is now outfitted with some stunning visuals to match their single "Haunted Love". And to describe the video, I'd have to use both the words haunted and love, because this eerily dark piece of cinema is masterfully crafted with additions crying babies and baths filled to the brim with blood. "Haunted Love", along with direction from Shia Labeouf, the [...]

CX KIDTRONIK is here with a public service announcement and he's brought along two guests, Lady Miss Kier and Ladybug Mecca, to deliver his message. It's "Lady's Krak PSA", a boisterous and sweltering joint that, like " Locked In " before it, will land on his upcoming album. CX is calling it KRAK ATTACK 2: BALLAD OF ELI SKIFF and it apparently also features MF DOOM, MF Grimm, Jonwayne, and Saul Williams, among others. It drops May 28. MARK YOUR CALENDARS.
Since our last pairing , a number of fantastic releases have hit the shelves. A highly anticipated Daft Punk album, a stunning Vampire Weekend full-length, and perhaps the finest 2013 free release thus far in Chance The Rapper's Acid Rap, are just some of the releases we considered. And we such a refreshing month of music upon us, we took it upon ourselves to pair said albums with equally tasty brews. And, just like last week, feel free to add any of your own pairings in the comments section below. Navigate through the pages [...]
![A$AP Ferg – “Work” F. ScHoolboy Q, A$AP Rocky, Trinidad Jame$ & French Montana (Remix) [Video]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4951895_lg.jpg)
You know those music videos that are kind of dumb but they're also kind of the best? Well, that's pretty much what we have here with A$AP Ferg's "Work" remix , which as you might already know only hit the web yesterday. Young Fergenstein isn't wasting any time getting the hype train rolling and that's to be commended, especially because this is actually entertaining. OK, it's absurd and plays into a lot of rap video stereotypes, but Ferg's is so hype that it makes you forget that watching French Montana "rap" is the worst way to spend 45 seconds [...]

After having a good laugh at t hat Boiler Room compilation yesterday , we're now getting some musical goodness from the worldwide series of parties. During their recent event in New York City, they snagged Pete Rock for a 70-minute set on the wheels of steel. He spins classic jam after classic jam after ... well, you get my point. If you were thinking of having a miserable Wednesday, let Pete and his mix cheer your bummy self up.
![Grape God – “Lufa Igno” [Video]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4951774_lg.jpg)
If you got hipped to Portland's Grape God when we posted his great Time Travel EP, chances are you (like me) are still trying to fully digest and comprehend dude's music. Well, we might have to hurry up, because he's already moving on to his next project. Over the weekend, he uploaded the beyond-smoked out visuals for new single "Lufa Igno", which is his own way of pronouncing actor Lou Ferrigno's name. Yeah . This shit is equally bizarre and awesome, and I need to get myself one of those Welch's hats. Peep the video [...]

Remember the outrage/hype surrounding Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's 2012 Coachella set after the, erm, hologram version of 2Pac took the stage? Well, expect the same feelings once this year's Rock The Bells festival makes the rounds, because both Eazy-E and Ol' Dirty Bastard will be "resurrected" for the event. ODB will make his appearance during Wu-Tang Clan's set while rumor has it that Eazy-E will "join" Bone Thugs-N-Harmony during their performance. As for the rest of the lineup, it's pretty damn solid and features the likes of Danny Brown, Brother Ali, [...]
