Before we properly announce our upcoming remix EP with Chicago's Closed Sessions, we have a lil' holdover joint here courtesy of Potholes Music's own Equalibrum and CS alum Chance the Rapper . Equal looked back to last year's 10Day mixtape and found some inspiration in standout track " Brain Cells ". While the original has its own laid-back vibe to it, this new coat of paint brings a different chilled-out sound to the mix with a bluesy tinge and perfectly time vocal cues. You can download/stream the remix below.

Prodigy and Havoc might be busy with their Mobb Deep "reunion" plans , but that hasn't stopped either of them from pursuing the solo projects in the past or present. For one, Prodigy has his joint album with Alchemist, Albert Einstein , dropping June 11. And it's sounding like a raw listen so far based on "Dough Pildin", a quick shot to the gut driven by tough-guy rhymes and a rugged, hazy instrumental. Listen below. [ via ]
![Andrea – Cruising [EP]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4947014_lg.jpg)
I've been waiting on Parisian producer Andrea 's Cruising EP for a minute now, thanks in part to killer single " Places " with Irish rapper Rejjie Snow. And over the weekend, the five-track project hit the web with a pay-what-you-want price tag slapped on it. Three of the cuts are originals (and damn good ones at that), while Slow Magic and Sun Glitters hold it down on the remixing tip for the remaining tunes. This is definitely more of a weekend/night-time type of listen, so maybe save it for later and properly enjoy [...]

Let's face it, this Daft Punk promotional trail has been damn long. With that, we are tired of posting all these cryptic messages leading up to the release. Not because they aren't entertaining, but because we just want to get our hands on Random Access Memories already. With that, the French duo drop off a new video showcasing the stunning LP packaging, along with a snippet of "Give Life Back To Music". FACT is also pointing to rumors that iTunes might have a full stream of the album tonight at some [...]
There's a new femme fatale in the game, folks. Hollywood's Fifty Grand shut it down with a smooth-ass beat that samples, you guessed it, the Mt. Moon music from Pokemon Red (or Blue , depending on your style) . This track feels like it would be featured on Fantasia 2013 with its dark, layered drums and great structure. Definite respect has been gained for the low key producer, who's already gained some recognition from the Mishka Bloglin , and the wavy, realm based netlabel she reps, Aural Sects . [...]

As Dam-Funk tells it , "Obsessed" was recorded on a "lonely & hazy, summer day" back in 1993. That's when he was crafting the tunes that would much later land on Adolescent Funk , a 2010 release compiling a slew of jams from his younger years. After giving this one a few spins, I'm feeling like Dam should get all the leftovers that didn't make Adolescent Funk and put out a sequel of sorts. That's up to him, of course, but the world could use more releases from the L.A. boogie king.

Eighteen months ago, I caught Danny Brown live for the first time. Opening for Das Racist, Brown played to a half-interested crowd of about 30. Last Friday, the Hybrid took the same stage as the headliner to a raucous crowd that had to be in the hundreds. It was representative of a rapid ascendancy following nearly a decade of relative anonymity. So the chipped-tooth smile on the face of the thirty-two year-old artist represented not only the ecstasy of rocking a sweaty, soaked and “turnt-up” crowd, but also a sense of relief that this finally his time. And [...]

Maaan , the thirst for everything related to Kanye West 's new album is at an all time high. And that's OK! Why? Because dude's apparently got something darker and more sinister on the way. It's hard to believe that he'll get even more brooding than he was on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy , but that's part of what makes this all so interesting. With that in mind, we normally wouldn't post clips with such mediocre, sometimes blown out sound like these, but the anticipation is just too damn strong for Yeezy's new LP. Once [...]

Jaw Jam - The Truth Tuff Wax: 2013 Jaw Jam has been making waves in the electronic world ever since his debut EP came out through Live for the Funk's Our Sounds series , with listeners becoming infatuated with his signature chopped-up, R&B-inspired, boom-bap stylings, but that doesn't aptly cover it. To be honest, that doesn't cover it at all. There's no way to pin down Will DiMaggio's abstract sound, and one listen through his latest five-track effort will have you begging linguists to create new verbiage to describe what you've just listened [...]

Adult Swim is a place where creative minds of music and animation converge. With such production Gods as Flying Lotus and Madlib making appearances over the years, it is only right some up-and-comers take note and inspiration from the mind-bending plot of programming. Thelonious Martin , for one, found inspiration in the late-night network, so much so that he went on to make a track called "Sleep Pattern". Equally as left-field as the names previously mentioned, Martin expands his sound with dreamy tones that could have only been constructed by a true insomniac. [...]

We have some good news for Death Grips fans anxiously waiting new material from the genre-bending trio. In a release posted by Pitchfork , they announced that they are indeed working on a follow-up to their controversial previous album, NO LOVE DEEP WEB . No word yet on whether they'll sign to a major, drop the album on their own terms, throw a dick on the cover, and leave said label in the meantime. Probably not. Oh, they're working on a score for a film being created by the group's drummer/producer Zach Hill. [...]
Remember those incredibly cute youngsters calling themselves Y.N. Rich Kids that dropped " Hot Cheetos & Takis " last year? Well, they're finally back today with a brand-new video and song, "My Bike". It's just as hype as their previous track and more than entertaining enough to share with everyone you know. Seriously, there's no reason why your lil' brother, sister, cousin, WHOEVER isn't playing this on their iPod or whatever. You know they all have one and that this will be a million times better for them than, well, almost anything. Especially Kids Bop or whatever it [...]

With his F.I.L.A. album on the way, Raekwon decided to give his fans an appetizer of sorts this lovely Friday afternoon. It arrives in the form of "Son of Sam", a sample-heavy burner driven by a slick break, chunky piano, and Rae's sharp bars. I know I can't be the only one wondering if his new album will get here before or after the Wu-Tang Clan's full-length, A Better Tomorrow , because these guys definitely aren't going to be happy with any kind of overlap. Listen to "Son of Sam" below.

As we reported recently, Ras G just dropped a new beat tape, Raw Fruit , on Leaving Records. And with that announcement came the stream of one of its smoked-out cuts, "Agaveman". Wasting no time on making sure we know more about what the tape has to offer, Leaving just uploaded another track, "Dumb Down", that sounds like an alien transmission ... if the aliens had laser-esque synthesizer, dub samples, and fuzzed-out bass. Get abducted below.

I had the liberty of premiering Georgia Anne Muldrow and Dudley Perkins ' latest joint on MTV Hive yesterday and because I'm enjoying it so much, I thought y'all at Potholes would dig "Muthadear", too. They described it as the best Mother's Day gift they could ever give and I concur. If I had an ounce of the creativity of these two, I would love to be able to do something as funky and fresh as this. It's off their upcoming album, The Lighthouse , which drops May 21. Pre-order it here . Win tickets to their release [...]

Mark my damn words: Quadron is going to have a massive 2013, y'all. Their Avalanche single " Hey Love " is their most accessible cut yet and they've been getting some solid press for it. Today, ELLE posted their interview with the singing half of the duo, Coco O. , who speaks on her goals, meeting Jay-Z and Prince, and much more. But that wasn't it. They also got her and Quadron's live band to perform an acoustic version of "Hey Love" and it's the tops. Watch the performance [...]

This past week was probably one of the slowest in terms of music news and single drops, though we did get a slight preview of some material off Kanye West's upcoming album . We also got those absolutely wild remixes of "N***as in Paris" and "M.A.A.D. City" by Portland producer Eprom, who hopefully has some more of them on his hard-drive. In more depressing news, the biggest story to break was Lauryn Hill being sentenced to three months in prison on Monday. Sigh . At least we got this lecture from [...]

If you're a Kanye West fan, chances are you've been waiting on both new music and something along the lines of a documentary on his career. It's been an interesting one, for sure, and it's illuminated across this 45-minute fan-made documentary put together by longtime fan James Workman. Well I don't know if he's a longtime fan for certain but you'd have to be to work on something like this for what he said was 5,000 hours! Damn, son. Here's how it was described by Workman on Kanye To The : [...]

Blackedout is an anonymous project, created by a youthful producer from somewhere in the Northeast. His sound is equally as mysterious, blending a highly pitched set of vocal samples with rolling hi-hats and euphoric experimentation. His first project is a self-titled EP, which comes in at just four songs. Despite its brevity, the EP serves as a fine introduction into a world unknown. We don't know much about Blackedout, but we can't wait to find out more. Stream the EP below. Blackedout EP by Blackedout

As an often-stuffy hip-hop fan, I never thought I'd find a day when I'd enjoy Hurricane Chris' "Ay Bay Bay". But here comes West Coast producer Brian Folk with his Jumpers Vol. 1 EP, which features a bouncy, just-ill-enough remix of Chris' joint. And ... I can't help but dig it. Folk's sound here is somewhere between Two Inch Punch and Ryan Hemsworth, meaning there's a vibrant, video game-y tinge. There's also a great original tune, "The Subject", that kicks off the two-track release. Here's hoping we get a few more of these EPs in the [...]
