In their first release since becoming a four-piece following the departure of their cellist, Ra Ra Riot have re-invented themselves as a synth-pop group. If the rest of the album sounds as gloriously free as Beta Love (it won't BE as gloriously free as this, as it's a free download) then we're in for a treat. After the relative disappointment of the band's second album The Orchard, which struggled to match the quality of 20082s The Rhumb Line, this sounds it could be worth getting excited about.
We love a good album stream, and it's even more exciting when the album you're streaming is good. Fixers' debut album We'll Be The Moon is one such album. If you're the kind of person who likes to buy after you try, then this will be out on 4 June for vinyl and digital lovers, or 18 June for those of you who like a good new-fashioned CD.

We like a lot of things stripped back here at In One Ear, especially our music. Luckily for us then, that Niki And The Dove's new single Taylor can be described as exactly that. The Guardian tell us that Taylor "glides in on the purr of a cello and shimmering keyboards, enveloping slowly" . In One Ear didn't get into Metric until their last album Fantasies back in 2009. We regret it a lot. Anyway to compensate for this oversight we're going to get the hype bandwagon rolling early by praising new single Youth Without Youth for being bloody brilliant and no less than we expected for the band who managed to reference both the Beatles and the Rolling Stones in Gimme Sympathy . OK, OK, this is a few days old. Sorry and all that. Possibly our favourite rockers (no doubt we'll say this about someone else sometime soon) the Gaslight Anthem have let their latest single - 45 - loose online. It's brilliant. Which is no less than we expected, quite frankly. 45 is taken from the band's new album Handwritten - out on 24 July - with the single due out on 8 May.
We can't take any credit for this one - that accolade goes to The Poke - but we can thoroughly recommend you give it a listen. It's Sweden's Dirty Loops adding a jazzed up version of Adele's Rolling In The Deep to their list of covers .

British pop band Keane have shown off a brand new sound with their latest single Silenced By The Night, reinventing themselves as a Prodigy-esque dance act... we can't even keep that up anymore with a straight face. As @underwurldchris put it: "they sound like Coldplay from 10 years ago" .
Remember that whole 'Florence + The Machine' thing? Anyone? In One Ear went to see her live a few years ago - three times, too - and wasn't impressed. Sure the record sounds good, but quite frankly we could belt out some of those tunes in a studio (NB: please don't ask us to) with their array of fancy gizmos and auto-tuners.
