Wow has it been a long time since I've heard anything from the Portland based indie rock band The Shins . Port of Marrrow , their next studio album, is going to be their first release through their vocalist James Mercer's record label. "Simple Song" is happy, catchy, melody filled, and sounds like a side step towards to their sound from Chutes Too Narrow ; Marrow/Narrow... coincidence? I'm sure this will have you pretty excited for their album release on March 20, 2012.

No this isn't the mixtape that's coming out this January 23, it's the title track. Hop in Rockie's ride and vibe along with him on his pursuit of fame and riches. I hope Driving 88 has some hype tracks, that's when I think he goes hardest.

Another talented individual from Canada! This reminds me somewhat of Feist with heavier synths and bass accents, but the rhythm is definitely symmetrical. I would imagine that this is what life would sound like if we could walk on clouds. This song is so angelical, I just can't understand anything she's saying.

Five days into 2012 and already we get a heavy slugger from G-Eazy and two others who I honestly haven't heard before but I really thought Meta had a great verse and flow.
