I listened to "Total Carnage" ad nauseum in various mixes over the last little bit. August 7th the finished product of Stay Calm was released. Lilacs hold a special spot in my heart. They were the favorite flower of my mother whom died when I was just shy of turning a teenager. One of the best things about the digital age is the variety of sites who stream new albums before they are released. If you've visited it and found music it due to it's pages, you can probably bet that they've streamed something. Not too long ago, ex.fm started streaming a new album every week. If you're unfamiliar with them they are the service a lot of bloggers (myself included) use to play music on their website. It's a very cool social media type atmosphere built around music, where you can follow blogs, pages, and love tracks, etc. [...]
Young Turks released another new The xx track off of Coexist . This one is "Chained" and it features a simple yet elegant beat that sets the tone. It's nothing particularly groundbreaking, but combined with the vocals it really sets things off. I guess I'm a sucker for male/female vocals together though. After the first handful of listens I think I might be feeling this one more than the previous.

Now they've reworked "Female Robbery" and also released a new video for it which you can check out below. I spent some extensive time working in retail stores. Extensive. Just wanted to emphasis that out front. When you work in retail, or you shop there, you will notice that most of your department stores pipe in some music from a satellite feed . It's easy listening music and mostly pop hits from years gone by. Occasionally something new will show up on there, but normally it's the same songs as always. Yellow Fever is now Deep Time and their self titled album is making the rounds. I have heard a couple of tracks but my favorite by far is "Clouds" which (for some inexplicable reason) reminds me of James Bond and insane car chases. Free music is good, right? Austin band She Sir decided it would be a great idea to release a prequel single to their forthcoming LP. I concur with their logic...it's a pretty damn good song. Beginning with chiming guitar sounds and some sexy percussion, "You Could Be Tiger" takes you on a hazy ride that could put you on the beach or at a bonfire under the stars. After reading about these dudes on I Guess I'm Floating and listening to them several times...I have to second that blogger's humble opine. I can't say I've been hearing anything else quite like Fantasy Island. Take this track "Evergreen" for example. It has so many shifts and movements within it this thing is practically an onion. In my hiatus a while back I completely missed that there was another new G-Eazy track featuring the vocals of Devon Baldwin.
