Life provided some challenges (good ones!) to keeping this blog current. We won't give up on it. We are currently working on putting together the best of 2012. Check it out so far... Best of 2012 What are some of your favorite tracks of the year? Could you pick one? photo by Vincent Fournier

The sun is shining here in the final days of a gorgeous Seattle summer, and that means Decibel Festival is almost here! I'm starting to get pretty excited about hitting up a bunch of this year's shows. As a lifelong Orbital fan, I couldn't miss their upcoming set on Sept. 27th at the Paramount--I was lucky enough to catch them at a major British outdoor festival almost a decade ago, and they blew me away. As for more recent acts, I'm also looking forward to checking out Keyboard Kid, Star Slinger, Mimosa, and Baths. If you're in Seattle [...]
Decibel Festival is coming to Seattle 26-30. There is a huge amount of musical acts that can't be missed by anyone in the immediate area. Looking over the list the ones that I would love to see if I lived in Seattle versus Chicago would be: Tycho DJ Shadow DJ Set Dam-Funk Bonobo DJ Set Star Slinger Biosphere Loscil Matthew Dear Dabrye There are certainly more that are worth checking out but [...]
Family. Work. School. The finite nature of time is working against us. We continue to try and update this page but as time passes it becomes more of a challenge. We will keep trying to blog but looks as if we are going to be more active on Soundcloud and Twitter for the time being.

The legendary Dimitri from Paris takes on Baula Apdul (er...Paula Abdul) anthem Opposites Attract with a remix that is somehow even more 1989 than the original. Don't miss it!

Chilly Gonzales perhaps best known for his record Ivory Tower which featured "Never Stop" which was "popularized" in an fruit commercial. "You Can Dance" is probably one of his most other well know track. ANYWAYS I am rambling here. The albums that I really enjoy from Chilly is his piano stuff. Listened to "Solo Piano" a ton and am excited to hear that he has a follow up...the aptly named "Solo Piano II." The first track, "White Keys" on the record is excellent. Check it out and then go to the album.

Sorry for the non-announced hiatus loyal readers and followers. But we are back and trying to get re-energize to get back into posting on a more regular basis. We appreciate your patience. Here are a couple burners for your weekend. The first is from on of our favorite groups on the planet...Classixx. The track is a remix of Gossip's song "Move in the Right Direction." As always Classixx give it a remix treatment that makes it arguably better than the original. Check it out. The next track is from Sydney's Debonair (aka Conor Bevan). "Ocean Drive" is from [...]
I can't get enough of this fully insane new video for "Thrift Shop" from Seattle's own Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. It's crazy good! With these lyrics, it's like he's channeling vintage Mix-a-Lot--another Seattle hip-hop legend. It doesn't hurt that the video itself is fantastic, too. Don't miss it.

Not a new new track but its awesome nonetheless. Shook's latest "Summerheat" is aptly named for this time of year. The track really shines with the help of Pumashock's vocals. Really great production on this one Shook! Check it out. My favorite part? The piano jam around minute 3:00...

Ahhh, it's been a while! To jump back into things here at Analog Giant, I thought I'd catch up with what the italo-funk partymasters at Reset! have been up to. Doing the good work, it seems, even as they transition to international clubbin' stardom. And make no mistake--this is still 100% grade-A clubbage coming from Reset!--but I find it a nice change of pace from the mopey and introspective electronic music that's crept onto my Spotify rotation. So, hey, crank it up.

Smalltown Supersound made this extended mix of Lindstrom track available on their Soundcloud. The track is mixed by Todd Terje. Check it out.

I feel bad about going MIA for a bit but I think this latest track from the Stones Throw label will help ease that pain. Its from signee Chrome Canyon . His track "Generations" is a synth bending extravaganza. Really really nice track here. Chrome Canyon is New York artist Morgan Z. His album, Elemental Themes was mastered by Nilesh Patel, the engineer behind classic tracks by some duos you might have heard of (Air & Daft Punk). Check it out.

Washed Out remixing My Morning Jacket? Match made in heaven? Possibly. The track is for the Outta My System – Remixez Y Friendz EP. The EP will be released digitally everywhere on Tuesday August 7th.

PBR (Patrol Boat, Riverine) Streetgang is the duo of Bonar Bradberry and Tom Thorpe. This remix isn't new but its awesome. Check out the magic they work on Crazy P's track "Beatbox." Track is featured on Audio Illusions Vol. 2 .

Not as good as the original but certainly different and good in its own right. Ellie Goulding covers Pat Grossi (aka Active Child)'s track "Hanging On." The Grossi version remains one of my favorite tracks ever but this provides a more "pop" version. I actually could skip having Tinie Tempah dropping in. Regardless check it out.

The latest in Norweigen duo technology, Mungolian Jet Set is Pål "Strangefruit" Nyhus and producer Knut Sævik. Their label Smalltown Supersound of Lindstrom fame just uploaded an amazing musical spanning track "Smells Like Gasoline." Coming in at 9 minutes its a dancetastic track that you have to check out. More about the duo here .

One of our favorite LA dudes Ken Rangkuty is at it again. Keenhouse just released "Where I Belong" the first single from the upcoming album Four Dreams out soon. Check it out.

New track from the on point Russ Chimes. "Back to You" is due out next week on July 30th. Its a really nice electro-disco track and shouldn't be missed. I can imagine this would sound great in the club...you know if I was to go to a club. Check it out.
We were considering a move to Tumblr but are having some issue with an unknown person using analoggiant.tumblr.com. We have no way to contact them. Wanted to see if perhaps another social media type might have any ideas. I emailed Tumblr but they have told me that without a subpoena I cannot get the person email. Anyone else any ideas? Anything is appreciated! Thank you!

All right, here's one for the pool party. Deutschland-based producer Cassara drops this perfectly crystallized representation of a summer cocktail in 'Discophox'. Feels just about perfect for the gorgeous Seattle weather we've been soaking up. Oh, speaking of pool parties, all of you are listening to Poolside's absolutely outstanding new album " Pacific Standard Time ", right? Well get on it!
