Entertainment Weekly reports that the Arcade Fire and Foo Fighters will join Mick Jagger on Saturday Night Live's season finale, which Jagger is hosting. Between Nirvana, Them Crooked Vultures, and Foo Fighters, this will be Grohl's ninth appearance on the show. It airs on 5/19.

Back in April Prefix premiered Ph�dre's "Aphrodite," which offers a glimpse of their quirky take on song-oriented electronica. Now, that song comes with a video attached, which takes place at a strange house party where the guests are decked out in makeup and the stoic band performs around them. It all slowly morphs into a burst of synchronized dancing while a game of mahjong takes place. What does it all mean? Decide for yourself by checking out "Aphrodite" below. [via GvsB ]

The excellent Exercises EP by Montreal producer Mike Silver, better known as CFCF, is due at the end of June, and "Exercise #5 (September)" from it has been captured on camera by the Yours Truly team. This cover from David Sylvian's excellent Secrets of the Beehive album has been reimagined as a simple ballad, stripping away the subtle synth-pop textures of the recorded version. Yours Truly shot Silver performing it in Austin, TX, in March this year, and their deliberately understated one-shot clip really enhances the depth of the track. Check it out below. [...]

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes have a new album out on May 29 titled Here , which is a further attempt by the band to prove there's more to them than "Home." Sharpe went some way toward rectifying that view with this performance of "Man on Fire" on Letterman last night, which slowly builds from folky origins into the kind of Van Morrisson/The Band-influenced rock workout for which the Magnetic Zeroes are best known. Despite the Bay Area royalty's relatively old age (44), E-40 has been on a serious spree lately, dropping seven albums since March 2010, including this year's The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil trilogy. And this, this is just silly. Set at "Outta Bounds Farm" in 1983, the new clip for 40's Tech N9ne- and Brotha Lynch Hung-featuring "Zombie," off the second Welcome to the Soil, finds 40, among other things, rapping in a barn alongside who are supposed to be zombies (though some of whom look more like juggalos). We've brought you its Letterman performance and its KCRW showing, and now we're here for Father John Misty's "This Is Sally Hatchet" clip. And, trust us, it's a weird one. The Grant James-directed clip finds ex-Fleet Foxes drummer Josh Tillman severing his fingers while making a pentagram-encrusted (enCRUSTed -- get it?) pizza, among plenty of other random buffoonery. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be as existential as that amazing-sounding Robin Pecknold-scored film coming out, but it's still worth a viewing or two. Just yesterday, we brought you the unfortunate news about Bj�rk's cancellation of her two early-June Primavera Sound appearances. And now, commendably, the Icelandic songstress has issued a statement apologizing for the cancellations. It's a sweet gesture and all, but apparently Bj�rk doesn't think highly enough of her fans to take the time to use proper punctuation and whatnot. It's tough to think of an artist better suited to remix a track off M83's latest album Hurry Up We're Dreaming than Mylo. While a rough cut version of the remix "Reunion" leaked in March on Annie Mac's radio show, a mastered version has now been released. M83's Reunion EP will be released on May 28 and also includes remixes from Naked and Famous, Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr., Sei A, Polly Scattergood, and White Sea. [ Hypetrak ]

"Money, money, money, money, money bags." That's how Rick Ross starts the latest Birdman track "Born Stunna." Of course this is nothing surprising to anyone that follows Birdman. The man runs a label called Young Money, bet millions on the Super Bowl and the NBA Finals, and always raps about being rich. Once again the YMCMB head honcho delivers "I got more money than you raps" for four minutes. "Born Stunna" will appear on the forthcoming Birdman album Bigger Than Life . [ Nah Right ]

British dream-pop duo 2:54 have a busy few months ahead of them. Their self-titled debut record is released on May 28 via Fat Possum , then their North American tour will see them play a Prefix-sponsored show at NYC's Mercury Lounge on June 11, and finally their next single "Creeping" will drop on June 18. Somehow the two sisters have still found time to unveil a new track. "The March" is not featured on the forthcoming album but it will form the B-side to "Creeping." It offers a huge, pulsating sound, full of rich vocal [...]

Generally, it's probably not a good idea for an indie-rock band of any genre to cover classic American soul and R&B songs. It's bound, almost always, to not be as good as the original and come off trite, forced or just bad. Seriously, can you imagine Fleet Foxes covering Al Green? Or how about Best Coast doing a "I Put A Spell On You" cover? Still, surprises do happen. After all, who would've known six years ago that Annie Clark of St. Vincent fame would be a TOTAL BADASS at playing covers from The Beatles to Big Black? [...]

One of the more intriguing bands to release an album this year is the synth-goth duo of Trust. The band unleashes a surprisingly interesting mix of weirdo vocals but with infectious, yet gloomy dance-riddled beats. Now the group out of Toronto, has released a new video for the 80s-infused house track "Sulk." Appropriately, the track takes places in a club but the year is not immediately apparent. Studio 54?
