Whenever Shelflife Records knocks on my mailbox, I'm more than willing to open the doors wide up. Today's no exception, as their latest signing, Toronto-based The Holiday Crowd , fits perfectly into the label's already great catalogue. If you like indie-pop with a touch of the Smiths , you won't be disappointed with this band. Free single Never Speak Of It Again has all that Brit flair and indie appeal we all [...]

...To Astronomy. That's what Nada Surf picked as the title for their newest album. After their last outing filled with cover versions of more or lesser known songs, we finally get a new, "proper" studio album. And I must say it turned out pretty good. It's got more punch than Lucky , has some great guitar riffs and a fair share of those catchy melodies we love the band for. The album will be released worldwide over the next two weeks, and the [...]

Following my post from December 7th, here's another new song from School Of Seven Bells ' forthcoming album Ghostory . Lafaye is the first official single from the album, and also the name of the tormented character that Ghostory will be about. Sounds like a concept album to me, which raises my expectations even higher. Ghostory will be released on February 28th. [...]
Just watched Drive yesterday, and apart from being a very, very cool movie (come to think of it, it's easily one of the best movies from 2011), it's the soundtrack that really stuck with me. It added so much to the atmosphere and pace of the movie, and despite being heavily influenced by the 802s, it never felt outdated. So here are two recommendations from me today: watch the movie and buy the soundtrack! [...]

I know it has been rather quiet around here lately (and to be honest, at this stage I don't really know if it's ever getting better...), but I just have to share this one with you. Here's a first and quite brilliant song from School Of Seven Bells , taken from the forthcoming album Ghostory . It will be out February 28th, 2012, and if this is an indicator for what we can expect, you better mark that date in your calendars. Now go and listen - and download - [...]
Here's a no-brainer. Recommended by both Morten and Peter (and me now!), From Sarah 's debut single Demons is a damn brilliant track you shouldn't miss. Must be something in Denmark's water, as it is nothing short of the grandness we're used from their fellow countrymen Kashmir !
New single from Marina & The Diamonds ... looking forward to new stuff. This here certainly wets my appetite!
wow... this must have been one of the first maxi-singles I've ever bought!
I have left some hectic weeks behind me (had to arrange a wedding for a friend), and now I can finally think about something else again. Mails have been piling up in the mailbox, so the first thing to do is to find my way through this jungle and pick the best berries. One I can offer you today without intensive research needed is a new track by Fossil Collective , formerly known as Vib Gyor . To download [...]
I've mentioned the Degrees and their forthcoming output just recently (re-read here ), and now there's a video for yet another new song which in my opinion is their strongest piece so far... in fact I think it's the best song they've ever released! Idiot Dreaming is an 8-minute-monster that just oozes of guitars and fast-forward synth-walls, and it keeps a powerful pace until the bitter end... simply fantastic! Enough of the talk now, hear for yourselves:

No, I'm not going on another holiday! But here's the latest beauty from Shelflife Records , courtesy of Finland's Burning Hearts . Yeah, you probably figured out the title by now... Burning Hearts - Into The Wilderness (MP3) The 4-song-EP of the same name is available now at Shelflife . And [...]

Here's a treat from Denmark for you, and it lasts the whole month of May: Moi Caprice -frontman Michael Moller 's new solo-project is called A Month Of Unrequited Love , and the title really stands for what it is. Each day, a new song will be released, and so far, the output is stunningly beautiful. If you're familiar with Moller 's first solo-album Every Streetcar's Got A Name , you [...]
I'm back for the moment, as is Swedish shoegaze band Degrees . Some new songs have popped up on Soundcloud, and they sound pretty amazing. Dream On Dreamy will be the name of their next album, to be released on May 24th. Bring it on, I say!!! Degrees - At Least Rock & Roll Won't Leave A Hole In My Back Degrees - Dream On Dreamy [...]

In response to Morten's "On The Radio This Morning" -post from today, here's what got my juices flowing this morning while driving to work: And I have to agree with Morten, Kent 's definitely up there with the best!

Here's yet another new song from Digits ... busy bee, that one! Digits - Rachel Marie (MP3) As I wrote back in September last year, Thirteen Senses will finally be releasing their new album Crystal Sounds on February 21st. Thanks to the internets, I have been able [...]
Sad day for blues guitar...

... as always courtesy of Viola . Here are the Loners: Viola - The Loners (MP3) Today's Daft Punk day... yes, I've seen Tron: Legacy yesterday, and the soundtrack really blew me away! And of course the movie rocked as well. Go see it! Daft Punk - Derezzed (Nteibint Remix) (Download via [...]

...from one of the "Whatever Happened To...?" -bands. Norwegians 120 Days have just released a new song from their forthcoming album. Dale Disco is an almost 10 minute long instrumental track that - at least for me - never gets boring, but rather builds up the longer it runs. I wonder if it's a finished version, or if there will be vocals in the end. Come what may, I now really start to look forward to the new album, [...]
