So here we are, first posting at my new home. And I've got wonderful music as a welcome gift to you! A couple of days ago, I've received a promo mail from WOL Records , and they wanted me to check out an artist called Glass Pear . I did, and after watching My Ghost on YouTube and listening to Morning Light , I knew I had found something really special. The label was so kind to let [...]
On September 15th, Blogger/Google deleted my Music Of The Moment-blog, out of the blue. I haven't been given a reason any other than it was based on a "complaint". I've posted my thoughts about it here . This here will be my new home for the time being. If it's where I will end up definitely, isn't entirely clear, but for now, it will do. Over the next few weeks, I'll reinstate my postings from the old blog, but I will kill many of the links that were in the posts (mainly in the Lazy Sunday Mix [...]

After a longer break, Peter from Schallgrenzen has started a new Soundcheck , and I've also gave my opinion about Porcupine Tree 's latest offering, The Incident . Read it at Peter 's in German, or check out the - somewhat bumpy - english translation below: I'm not really sure if I should write about The Incident yet. Because one thing you need to invest into [...]

This is all I'll have time for today: Sweden's Parker Lewis has released a new 4-track-EP called Rak Som En Pil , and as you might notice from the title, the songs are sung in Swedish. Once again, perfectly innocent indie-pop! Parker Lewis - Rak Som En Pil (ZIP-File) Rak Som En Pil Microsite

Following Tuesday's post , here's more good news from Dappled Cities : their label Dangerbird now offers the Zounds -predecessor Granddance for free! I don't know how long it will stay up, so get it while you can! Dappled Cities - Granddance (ZIP-File) and if for any reason my boxstr.net-link to the single The Price is [...]

I was just crawling through Last.FM's Free MP3-section , and noticed their year-tags for the 60s through the 90s. It's obvious that a lot of stuff is just simply tagged wrong, but I've found the odd number that really belongs there. In the 70s category, I've discovered one of my favorite Oldies: Johnny Wakelin - In Zaire (MP3) Still a cool song after all these years, don't you think? A bit less cool (infact... [...]

It's once again time to travel to Australia where we find the origins of Dappled Cities . The 1997-born band has just released their third album Zounds on Dangerbird , and it's the first one that was written and produced at their new home in the USA. Some of you might know the band from their first albums, then released as Dappled Cities Fly . Well, the Fly obviously stayed in Australia (as if [...]

Here's another great tipp from J.A. : The Search Engines from Glasgow were an indie-psychedelic-pop band that existed from 2001 - 2005. Their sound reminds me a bit of the Raveonettes , with jangly guitars and that certain catchiness. You can download most of their output on Last.FM , and to get you hooked, here are three tasters. The Search Engines - When She Goes (MP3) [...]

Today is official Muse day. I'm really curious to hear The Resistance ; I'm a big fan of Queen 's masterpiece A Night At The Opera , and from what I've heard, there must be quite a few references to that album. I'll get my copy of The Resistance this noon, and will be spending the afternoon with it (if work will let me do so...). Kalle from [...]

Here's a tipp from J.A. : Motorama , shoegaze/indierock-band from Russia, offers a new EP for free. If you're not familiar with the band yet, check my earlier post here , and visit their website . Here are two earlier works, and the link for the Bear EP . Motorama - The Bear EP (ZIP-File) Motorama [...]

I normally like to add my own thoughts about a song/album in my posts, but I just can't find the time today. But instead of leaving you without anything, I'd rather post the press release for Brooklyn-based band The Library . Here goes: Brooklyn's The Library are a pop band (with former members of The Mayflies USA and The Comas ) consisting of guitars, piano, bass, drums, and male vocals with the occasional fiddle, banjo, or electronics thrown into the mix that transcends the simplicity of [...]

...another try. But I'm not gonna say anything about picking up the pace again or more regular posts... last time I did, things once again turned out different! So without further ado, here's some mixed stuff: Been listening to the new The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart EP Higher Than The Stars . And similar to Morten , I do love the new songs, but am not so much impressed by the St. Etienne [...]
