Yo-Yo - You Better Ask Somebody

Yo-Yo - You Better Ask Somebody Yo-Yo proves shes still kickin' it in '93 with 'You Better Ask Somebody'... Shes got a slower flow than in her debut but spits lyrics just as hard with more confidence and purpose than most of the rappers out there... Great stuff with clear influences from Ice-Cube in his prime as a rapper and producer... Tracklist: 1. Ibwin' Wit My Crewin' 2. Can You Handle It 3. West Side Story 4. Mackstress 5. 20 Sack 6. You Better Ask Somebody [...]

The Anthem

Just in case the last video wasnt taken in good taste i thought id throw up something which you cant go wrong with... Im sure most of you are aware of Sway & Tech's track The Anthem feat. RZA, Tech N9NE, Eminem, Xzibit, Pharoahe Monch, Kool G Rap, Jay-O Felony, Chino XL and KRS-One... I must have at least 5 copies of this track on my computer, its on that many bootlegs, compilations and mixtapes, but i have never seen the video and i must say its quite impressive... Done similar to the style of the Wu-Tang - Triumph video...

The Aristocrats

WARNING: HIGHLY OFFENSIVE This is Matt Stone and Trey Parker's (The Creators of South Park) interpretation of a joke called 'The Aristocrats' and is taken from a DVD full of clips of different comedians interpretations of the same joke... I warn you, its pretty fucked up... Just how i like it :) Wanna know more? [...]

Afu-Ra - Life Force Radio

Afu-Ra - Life Force Radio This ones been uploaded for a while but i never got around to posting it, a great album from Afu, hes made some clear progress in this album since 'Body of the Lifeforce' in lyrical talent but i dont like his new beats and flow as much as his old style, its great stuff dont get me wrong, but he had an awesome Wu-Tang sound about him which really worked, however hes chosen to take a different direction, for better or worse... Tracklist: 1. The Asun / Message 2. Scat [...]

Yo-Yo - Make Way For the Motherload

Yo-Yo - Make Way For the Motherload This one snuck by almost unnoticed in the CBox posted by Thumpasauras and i cannot stress how wrong youd be for sleeping on this album... Yo-Yo is a female MC from Da Lench Mobb and released this album in '91, the beats and her flow is remarkable and is only upstaged by her lyrics... If you still dont know what to expect, her voice is strangely reminisent of Shyheim in his early years of rapping and her flow somehow reminds me of Big Daddy Kane... This is a great album, top of the line jazzy/funky beats with dope producing by [...]

Fatlip - The Loneliest Punk

Fatlip - The Loneliest Punk Who am I kiddin', who am I foolin 'When they be like "What's up Fatlip?," and I say "Coolin'" Poor ol' Fatlip... Making his debut with the group Pharsyde, Fatlip was the crazy crackhead with wierd lyrics (much like ODB was to Wu-Tang), however in '97 he was booted from the Pharsyde due to his creative differences and intollerable drug habit... From then Fatlip persued a solo-career however due to drug issues and writers block it would take almost 10 years before [...]

The Roots - Illadelph Halflife

The Roots - Illadelph Halflife The second album from the Roots 'Illadelph Halflife' is in my opinion the groups best and is one of the greatest albums from '96... This album features some of the most insightfull lyrics ever recorded and dont waste a breath throughout the album, every word is perfectly possitioned... The jazz-inspired beats work well complimenting the lyrics and further empower the rappers messages... This album is a good listen all the way through... Tracklist: 1. "Intro" 2. "Respond/React" 3. "Section" 4. "Panic!!!!!!!" 5. "It Just Don't Stop" 6. "Episodes" (feat. Dice Raw) 7. "Push Up Ya Lighter" (feat. Bahamadia) [...]

Common - UnCommon Classics Vol. 1

Common - UnCommon Classics Vol. 1 Another quality mixtape coming your way, UnCommon Classics features Common's rare releases, collaborations and freestyles... If you dont know Common or youve just heard one of his albums, heres your chance to look at the spectrum of styles and every track is quality stuff... From Common's more playfull flow found in tracks like 'Soul by the Pound' to his more thoughtfull songs like 'Lately ive Been Thinkin', this mixtape has it all and is blended masterfully by DJ Risky Buisness... Appreciate the art that came through portiricans and blacks Speaking of facts, the sound is much deeper than [...]

Kool Keith (Dr Octagon) - The Return of Dr Octagon

Kool Keith (Dr Octagon) - The Return of Dr Octagon This is actually one of Keith's better albums of the past few years... This isnt as sick and twisted as the Octagynacologyst but its deffinately more spaced out and trippy... Keith is at times hard to find in some tracks, he can be found whispering in the background, but this awkwardness is accompanied by some great beats... The thing that seperates this album from Keiths more recent attempts is he seems so much more natural in his ego Dr Octagon, while in some of his alter egos just arent him... Tracklist: [...]

We wouldnt be here today...

We wouldnt be here today... ...If the old school didn't pave the way This Single Session Ive collected just a few of my favourite Old School dedication tracks... To kick it off is 2 Pac's aptly named song 'Old School' in which he reminises over his childhood growing up and his musical influences, his words sound true and make this song one of Pac's most powerfull tracks... 2Pac - 'Old School' Next, KRS kicks it with 'I [...]

Common - Can I Borrow A Dollar?

Common - Can I Borrow A Dollar? Hmm... looks like noones going to argue with me on the Blood Money, or maybe theyre still looking... Anyhow... Im fairly controversial when it comes to Common... I loved 'Ressurection' and reckon 'Be' is overrated, but i feel 'Can I Borrow a Dollar' is heavily underrated... Common's flow is as good as ever and the beats are classics... If your reluctent to download cause of some bad reviews, i reckon give it a try, one of my all time favourites... Favourite Tracks in Bold [...]

Stop Bitching, Stop Crying

Stop Bitching, Stop Crying Original Mobb Deep Post Ive noticed on more than one occassion that i have gotten a decent amount of criticism for my post on Mobb Deep... It seems there is a big deal that i only posted exerpts of their new album and i seem to be bias due to my passion for 'backpack' hip-hop... Well heres the proposition... find one fucking good line in 'Blood Money' and im satisfied, ill apologise for any inconvieniences and move on... rather than whining and bitching show some facts... just in case you [...]

The Freestyle Fellowship - To Whom It May Concern

The Freestyle Fellowship - To Whom It May Concern Got a request for some more Freestyle Fellowship and this album deffinately deserves some recognition. The groups debut 'To Whom it May Concern' dates back to 91' and the group are just finding their sound so its not as wacky as 'Innercity Griots' but brilliant nevertheless. Favourite Tracks: 3, 5, 6, 12 and 17 Tracklist: 1. We Are The Freestyle Fellowship 2. My Fantasy 3. 7th Seal 4. Let's Start Over 5. Sunshine Men 6. Physical [...]

2Pac - 2pacalypse Now

2Pac - 2pacalypse Now One of my favourite 2pac albums, '2pacalypse now' presents Pac in the early days of his career and this album presents him in his rawest form with beats and rhymes before the fame and riches. Not saying his newer stuff is bad, just '2pacalypse now' is a nice change and shows 2pac in a different light. Tracklist: 1. Young Black Male 2. Trapped 3. Soulja's Story 4. I Don't Give A F*** 5. Violent 6. Words Of Wisdom 7. Something [...]

Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die

Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die Sorry for the delay!... To make up for it heres some No.. No.. No.. Notorious... Baught this one just a few days ago, all the hits, remastered for your listening pleasure... This album is the best Biggies done in my oppinion, its much more raw than his following albums and is pure B.I.G, not packed with average guest spots... 'Ready to Die' presents Biggie at his best, his flow is unbeatable and his excelence as a story teller is shown throughout, particularly in One More Chance and the hit track Juicy... Favourites in Bold [...]

The Freestyle Fellowship - Innercity Griots

The Freestyle Fellowship - Innercity Griots I cant believe i forgot about this album for so long... Was listenin to one of Aceyalones recent solo projects in disgust and retreated back to his roots for some comfort... The Freestyle Fellowship consists of Aceyalone, Mikah 9, P.E.A.C.E. and Self Jupiter and was created at the historic Good Life Café in LA. 'Innercity Griots', the groups 1993 sequel to their hit 'to Whom it May Concern' released in 1991... This album features some of the groups most abstract, crazy, fun and wacky shit. If you havent heard of 'em, have a listen this is some top stuff! [...]
