I cant believe i missed out on this one for so long, deffinately the best Heavy D album, this time the group comes through with some of the best rapping found in the early 90s... After the death of group member T. Roy, the group has taken a maturer stance in this album commenting on equality of woman in 'Sister Sister' and the classic track 'Don't Curse' featuring legendary hip-hop artists: Kool G Rap, Grand Puba, Pete Rock, CL Smooth, Big Daddy Kane and Q-Tip... Whats almost as good as the rappers is the beats with production by soul brother [...]

After appearing on various Ultramagnetic MC tracks, Tim Dog went on to release his debut solo 'Penecillin on Wax' in '91 which drove him to fame in the underground and sparked various fights in the hip-hop world, particularly in his underground hit 'Fuck Compton' which as you can guess disses the lengendary group NWA... Del the Funkee Homosapien, Souls of Mischief, Casual, Pep Love and Domino make up the underground rap supergroup/label Hieroglyphics... The group comes together for the first time in 'Third Eye Vision' in which the group shows off their lyrical talents together and in their own solo tracks, so if you dont know the Hiero crew, you soon will! Great stuff here, with beats almost as diverse as the lyricists, this album comprises of calmer tracks like 'You Never Knew' to more agressive tracks like 'After Dark', this album has it all... Great interview, Dame Dash rips O'Reilly apart! Cam'Ron isn't exactly the brightest (which is why Fox probably chose him) however he is funny as hell and has some good points, he just doesnt know how to say 'em... Dame Dash on the other hand knows exactly whats going on... Check it out...

Latifah made a return in '91 with 'Nature of a Sista' and it seems by now she really has found her sound, her voice is clearer and her lyrics have direction... Though i really enjoyed Latifah's more playfull flow in her debut, her more focused style reflects her refined lyrics... Great stuff Latifah... Wish i could say the same for your acting... Its been literally a week since i uploaded something so i thought id hit ya up with something olddd... I picked this one up at Dallys a while ago coz i thought it had a sick cover, i didnt realise this album was Grand Puba's (Brand Nubian) debut with Dr. Who and DJ Shabazz and its phatt... Released in '87, this album has a real old school sound and Who and Puba sound natural over the funky beats... Another slept on masterpeice thanks to the one and only THUMPASAURUS!.. This time we have the 'Young Black Teenagers' a controversial group from 91' because of their groups name as you can see in the album cover, they are clearly white, this contradiction caused many to believe the album was a mere joke criticising hip-hop but it is anything but that... The group consists of Kamron, First Born, ATA & Tommy Never with DJ Skribble and im telling you now, this group pulls off some crazy rhymes with a furious hardcore sound... I cant stop with this YouTube stuff, theres just so much there and so much quality stuff im findin new shit all the time... Another classic drop courtesy of Thumpasaurus, unfortunately i have to say i know absolutely nothing about this group which isnt really an issue, the beats are tight and the raps are smooth... Hard Knocks pull off some great tracks in this album and represent the Bronx in '92 with dexterity and intellect... Slept-on and pretty much forgotten... Spread the word!
