Attack my pop sensibilities will you, Wrongkong. I support pop, I do. I want to bite Wrongkong's heads off and see how they're wired, because it's only once in a while that "indie" bands manage to present us with neither the tortured artist poop or attempts at new, original, never-been-done-before "soundscapes". And they're always from Sweden or something. Sometimes it's a case of fiat lux, fiat pop . I'm pretty sure I just made that up. So here's the "five-headed beast" named [...]

I received this in the mail and decided that I liked the concept. hello, we are a new blog based in paris called ten songs that saved your life . we ask artists from different fields about the ten songs that saved their lives. the playlists are listenable on official fm. the first guests are : xavier veilhan, terence koh, justice, jonathan caouette, hans ulrich obrist, gisèle vienne, christophe lemaire, robert wyatt, richard kern, [...]

James Blake 's latest EP was sent to me about a month ago. I could download the thing, but I couldn't post one song, not even as a stream. I thought, that's against the point, so the Buddhist in me told me not cling to the need to listen to Enough Thunder . The mind was quicker this time and said fuck it, let's have a listen. And of course, it's great. Well, go stream it over at Abeano . [...]

...so original that if the 80s didn't exist they just came up with it. I was giggling already when the bright pink credits of the opening sequence made me think, "So cheesy". That wouldn't be the last time I'd think that, but Drive is still a very good film. Hopscotching along "art" and "entertainment", it's something of a film noir (great use of light/shadows). It's got electro pop and little dialog (enter the multiplex punters complaining that it's slow ). The way the narrative goes is predictable, but that's not what interested me. It's the building [...]

My favourite love-themed mix is still Bullion's Mixed Up in Love but this is a vast expanse of mutating landscape, as opposed to Bullion's melancholic Zen garden. Enjoy them both. Flying Lotus, Lovers Melt 2 click the pic Bullion, Mixed Up in Love - Hm, not sure I can locate it right now. Anyone who has the mp3, leave a comment. Tagged: mixtape

In Europe this summer: Tame Impala . I'm sure you can still get tickets to some of those. Here are all their upcoming gigs via last.fm . The tameimpala.net staff might be a bit biased when they say : If Tame Impala are coming to your area, check them out. Their live shows are no less than an amazing tsunami of psychedelic lights, music, dreamy melodies, pounding, primal drums, droning, thumping solid bass and tripped out fuzz guitars [...]

Stream the album Dearest readers, I'm giving up trying to describe or define music- that is entirely beside the point. But here's the thing. I could just yell, Translucent geometry! and leave it at that. Uh, no. Panda Bear 's music comes from someone with vision, and I can feel his efforts to put that vision forth, when I listen to it. There's a sense of communing with something great when you listen to songs like Alsatian [...]

We all want instant gratification online, and aren't we all online? Whether it's a film, a song, a plastic shoe that smells like pannacotta- I want it now. When it came to music the destination used to be clear, for at least three years now - a little site called last.fm . But here's an announcement from them regarding changes starting November: So What's Changing at Last.fm? The following subscriber-only radio stations will no longer be available: Loved Tracks Radio: [...]
![[MP3+MV] Narcoleptic Dancers: who does their hair?](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2916417_lg.jpg)
No reinventing of the wheel here. This bit of summery, jangly pop might be too laden with cuteness to work for most, but it's light-hearted and ready to warm you up like a ray of sunshine spearing through a cloudy day. The Narcoleptic Dancers sound like Slow Club , Nouvelle Vague and red polka dots on a white dress. Listen / download: Not Evident (mp3 ) And here's a hairy vid: [...]
I can't get enough of this new track off a new LP off another world where the stars collide with other cosmic creatures... The blurb says, "Active Child and School of Seven Bells have collaborated on a special 73 project, each taking a crack at remixing the other's tracks." The reality is beyond words, which is why you have to experience this with your own ears. Heart Is Strange by School of Seven Bells (Active Child remix) - mp3 Pre-order the 73 from Lefse Records [...]
Even robots turn to flesh sometimes, and here we have a record in search of that elusive nectar, squashing the digital and the analogue into one fresh sound-pie. Robot Koch explores that sensibility on his new EP, Listen To Them Fade , a musical laser beam that lands in the midst of a tribal fire . The full album will be out in October, by which time I'll think of better similes Following is an interview with Robot Koch [...]
![[Video] The Bamboos' funk-brewing techniques](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2361866_lg.jpg)
Bamboos getting ready to roll out the new material... Meanwhile we have some "home video" teasers to enjoy. Here's one. And check out the lip sync to "Dream Weaver" towards the end. I find the funniest things hilarious. I know one thing about their forthcoming album, 4 . As HMV Japan puts it, 完全ファンク保証 / Perfect funk guarantee. Ain't that the funksome truth. Get on your dancing shoes... or take them off for that matter. After a night of almost breakless boogie and a smidge of yeye last Friday at 1000fryd in Aalborg, Denmark, I feel inspired to spread the word. Dancing to music you haven't ever heard before is strangely refreshing. So is dancing when you're the only one on the dancefloor at 10 pm... when three-four hours later there's just no more space from couples shakin' it, and some twat spills beer on the dancefloor so there's a largish square of space gone to waste. [...]

![[Screw a review] Orchestre National de Jazz around Robert Wyatt](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2042775_lg.jpg)
It took only two songs for me to realise I was in this kind of much-hailed, seldom-reached territory: the album you want to listen to again and again without skipping tracks or hitting pause because you're off to grab refreshments. I didn't know much of Robert Wyatt 's solo stuff. I do now know his genre is marked as "progressive" on the myspace page not because he enjoys a coma-inducing prog-rock guitar solo, but rather for his progressive predisposition. As a plus, he's the spitting image of Moses, at least as I picture the dude. [...]

It sounds like robots spraying the track with flowers and rainbow candy. That means that I like it. Au Revoir Simone - Another Likely Story (Neon Indian remix) mp3

If you chance upon free music worth that click, these days that means a lot. Doesn't your heart flutter like a fairy-winged teacup when you do? So that's why I'm grateful for one sir who goes by the name of Illingsworth , member and producer of Detroit CYDI (Can You Dig It). The album, The Rhyming Dictionary , is a split-production affair, with half of the tracks rounded off by Erik L - who previously worked with Frank N Dank. [...]
