Alan Simpson really wants to "save" Social Security you see. He is a Republican after all and they have always loved the New Deal and Social Security especially. As you can see by watching this video he is a nasty piece of work. Besides his sophistry and lies about Social Security that is.

Truer words have never been said. Of course you can say the same thing about listening to music on a I phone or a MP3 player through crappy little headphones and low resolution MP3s also. Even watching movies on a 50" flat screen isn't the same as going to the movies. I have 6' permanent screen and a projector that I watch movies on and it isn't quite the same experience. So yes, the idea that a 3" screen is "seeing" a movie is absurd.
