Gonna try and give the DJ'ing a big push next year and once I get the digital set up sorted then I'm all ready with my Soundcloud page to get some brand spanking mixes on to promote myself. I've a bit of a master plan, fingers crossed! Anyhoo, here's a fairly old mix I did for an Halloween party - remember it having some cool Mylo tunes on it, I should really listen to these prior to posting them! Hello Wee Un! by tmunki

Another re-upload and a classic to boot! What's even nicer to know is that Krafty Kuts links directly to this blog from his Soundcloud page. m4a files only (sorry!) This is one of my favourite mixes, even more amazing was that it was plastered on the front of the December 2001 issue of Mixmag. The magazine (apparantly) sold like absolute hotcakes, and is quite a sought after CD, up there with Coldcuts Journeys by DJs and Andy Smith's The Document. "It's kinda about being clever," he says, "in general, thinking about what people are going to like. That's [...]

Thought I'd renew some of the dead links - here's the first post from the blog... Free cassette with December 17, 1994 issue of New Musical Express . Mixed by The Chemical Brothers when they were known as The Dust Brothers. The end track is actually preceded by 30 seconds of the Dust Brothers / Chemical Brothers / Sunday Social remix of 'La Tristesse Durera'. Used to give this some battering on me walkman, when I came to put it on it started off really fast, then really warped, then played [...]

A record that I inherited from an old house (no pun intended) mate - something that I've not really listened to before and was slightly surprised - 1992 release on Bass Boy Records. 2 - Nu - 4 - U (The Riff XXX Rated) p.s. If anyone is interested in buying these records please PM me!

First out of the vinyl vaults is the Red Snapper mix of In Absentia by Glamorous Hooligan - an act that never have entered my radar since, hardly surprising that there's only just under 350 listeners on last.fm. Red Snapper on the other hand never fail to deliver as seen in this jazz/funk hip-hop track. Glamorous Hooligan - In Absentia (Red Snapper mix)
Cover Mount Cassette is to be reborn! I'm about to change my current set-up from vinyl to digital which is going to take some time and effort (and cash!) I'm selling the majority of vinyl on ebay - check out the current sales on http://search.ebay.co.uk/?sass =tmunki&ht=-1 However after searching through the vinyl I've unearthed some rare tracks and remixes which I'm going to stick on the site. Keep watching for further updates!
Keep thinking about posting some new stuff, honestly! Anyway check out this new Groove Armada track!

I remembered about a CD I had from the NME that I wanted to post but after much searching I couldn't find it but instead I've stumbled across this one for you all! A nice selection given away free with The Guardian around the beginning of 2005. Click on the track titles to download. 1 Fatboy Slim - Wonderful Night 2 Bloc Party - Helicopter 3 Lemon [...]

Here's a band that I kinda started liking until they released that Cash Machine track and they went down in my estimation! Despite that, this mix by their tour DJ WrongTom has a eclectic mix of indie, house, reggae and hip-hop - something that I wouldn't necessarily identify with their style of music. Their new album seems to be causing a fuss all over their choice of artwork (or lack of it), it stinks of laziness to me instead of being the new "White Album". Given away free with the June 2006 issue of Mixmag. 1 [...]

The festival season is almost upon us, so here's a "festival themed" (i.e. sponsored by Wireless festival) mix by Gilles Peterson from Mixmag in July 2005. "Born in Paris and raised in London on a diet of Gauloises, cider and fish & chips, Gilles Peterson began to collect rare Polish electronica as a teenager, making in-roads into the burgeoning rare groove and soul scene at clubs such as Cat's Whiskers in Streatham. And whilst he's best known for playing weird records before Carl Cox at Space and a glorious mid-90's stint running Talkin' Loud [...]

Given away with the October 2004 edition of Mixmag, this "15 track mix of classic remixes and monster anthems" has a couple of interesting cover versions at the start and ends with a side project of Stuart Price's (Les Rythmes Digitales/Zoot Woman) on Kitsuné. How New York can you get? Based in the epicentre of the coolest spot in NYC, Armand lives in a studio/lounge set-up overlooking the city. The skyline itself is impressive enough, but it's even more inspiring when you realise that it's the loft where songs like "I Can Smell U" [...]

The track that isn't on the bleep download of the limited 3,500 copy Booc e.p. Plaid - Stimul Plaid.co.uk

The only time I think about putting stuff on the site these days is when I have something else to do, again am in the middle of writing an assignment but am so easily distracted! Given away with the September 2000 issue of Mixmag. This is Pete Tong at the top of his game, delivering deep, underground music from the darker corners of the nation's dancefloors. This mix contains the kind of tunes that Tongy has championed in his Mixmag column over the last 18 months and in sets at clubs including Bugged Out! [...]

Wayne's cousin Tommy gave me this album on tape, they lived one of the shittiest areas I've ever had the pleasure of visiting, remember going round to an acquaintances house and having to wipe my feet on the way out! I also saw Baby Ford support Inspiral Carpets but can't remember much of it... Anyway here's a vinyl rip of an album which I've struggled finding again... acid house will never die! A1 [...]

After the commencement of my current career I bought my Sony Walkman & it's weird to think that it's the same Walkman that's recording this that I was listening to 10 years ago walking to work. Some fantastic tracks from Mr Carter given away free with the July 1996 issue of Select Magazine. Select at The Heavenly Social: Mixed by Jon Carter Select Magazine on Wikipedia Jon Carter [...]

In celebration of the fantastic NME New Rave tour I went to last week, here's the original "The Bouncer" that the Klaxons played as their opening number. Kicks Like A Mule - The Bouncer More Old Skool Bizzness @ Back To The Old Skool

Can't believe the prices that some CD's are going for on ebay, so I've ripped this classic track from my vinyl copy. Enjoy! Warp 69 - Natural High (Global Communication remix)

Nice to see that you can now download my old mash-up from B00mb0x... tmunki - "Wallpaper" & "The Hardest Button to Finally Button On" link to b00mb0x and I was searching for summat else and found this instead, except I haven't listened to it so it might be crap... tmunki - Come to Mine mix ...although I will listen to it and put up a tracklisting asap. I have also joined the International Mixtape Project but am still waiting to start [...]
