Our buddy Matt shot a Super-8 film for Armani Exchange starring Liza along with some model/actresses and a band maybe, plus a couple of dudes. It's being projected on the side of a building or something on Regent Street to celebrate the opening of a new store in London. Click here to watch it on Dazed Digital. There's a feature where you can click on one of the models and read their responses to a questionnaire about beauty products and music. Liza's answers, hands down, are the best. What make-up item [...]
A lot of people are asking me to come up with year-end lists like the other bloggers and I think that rather than coming up with a comprehensive analysis of who made the best albums, performed the best shows, or had the best single, I'll list the top 20 music videos of the year. I think that music videos aren't made frequently enough and I hope that by omitting the people who don't make them I can at least encourage that they do in 2008. I only want a band so I can make music videos. In no order, here [...]

Those are 2 pages out of our 4-page spread in the December issue of DAZED & CONFUSED . Pick up the issue on newsstands now for more. We're only a few pages away from Alan Vega. Coincidence? Yes, actually. He has no idea who we are. Matt posted a follow-up on Dazed Digital as well, featuring an interview with he and I about Western Addition Radio and our time spent together in San Francisco and New York. CLICK HERE , GO NUTS! There are a lot of photos and we LOVE Dazed so [...]

First, we entertained Jennifer Herrema and her band Rad Times Xpress, but we broke something so it got cut short. It's a mini-episode. Sorry folks! Then the following Friday we had the Passionistas on the show to talk conspiracy theories. Check out both episodes, and you can download everything at www.westaddradio.com/cobain.

Today is supposed to be "no music day" but I didn't realize that until I had listened to a lot of random stuff, like Girls, Holy Shit, Digitalism, and Mark's old band Jealousy. On today's shuffle, I'm posting two songs from Adorable, the 90s "new glam" band that was signed to Creation and has subsequently been tossed in with the shoegazers, although I would compare them more with Suede than bands like My Bloody Valentine or Swervedriver. I love "Homeboy" because it's a pretty blatant homoerotic love song that fits into a style of music that I love. Maybe it [...]
Thanks, Gregori! I think Chris Crocker is about to be de-throned. Bitch better watch out.

Liza and I have a 5-page fashion spread in the December 2007 issue of Dazed & Confused, THE CULT ISSUE. Photos by Matt Irwin and styled by Robbie Spencer. Hits newsstands this week!

My friends have been complaining that I don't post enough so I think I'm going to fill up the time when I'd normally be neglecting this blog posting random mp3s and talking about them. This is my new "Shuffle" feature. Today I present "Garbage Man" off of Hole's seminal album Pretty On The Inside . When I was 10 and my sister was 13, I remember complaining to her about how terrible this cassette sounded when she would blast it out of her room, so she would slam the door, call me an idiot, and then [...]

Before Phil Spector went insane and shot a woman at point blank (and subsequently became the subject of Mark's Halloween costume ), he was the "Tycoon of Teen". Glasgow's Glasvegas draw influence from Phil Spector as many musicians do, but in a way so overt that the band could almost be viewed as a hysterical fanclub, veering creepily into territory reserved for Elvis impersonators and delusional lounge lizard stepmoms. What saves them is their lush wall of sound, haunting refrains about death, heartbreak, and abandonment, and unavoidably Scottish brogues. If you take nostalgic Americana and export it to post-JAMC [...]

Kap Bambino - "New Breath" Kap Bambino - "Save" I like Kap Bambino loud and I like how they sound like a whiny, know-it-all teen in an industrial mosh-pit. If a cool cheerleader with black nail polish was giving her stoned skater boyfriend a blowjob while her mom pounded on her door and yelled at her to turn off that racket, it would be cool if this were the music blasting out of her Hello Kitty speakers. I found out about KB from my friend Matt who photographs them at [...]

Click to hear a new episode of COBAIN IN A COMA radio. This one is a personal favorite because Laura Sutro is in the studio.

I had an art installation on Friday at Eddie's "myspace gallery: a place for friends" . Here are some of the photos from it: Ministry - "Everyday Is Halloween" (mp3) You can look at more of the photos on our myspace !

From the deerhunter blog : Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and her reactivated Psychic TV aka PTV3 are terribly sad to announce the cancellation of their November North American tour dates. This decision is entirely due to the unexpected passing of band member Lady Jaye Breyer P-Orridge. Lady Jaye died suddenly on Tuesday 9th October 2007 at home in Brooklyn, New York from a previously undiagnosed heart condition which is thought to have been connected with her long-term battle with stomach cancer. Lady Jaye collapsed and died in the arms of [...]
This is a video response on YouTube to a video with porn stars François Sagat and Francesco D'Macho making out. I hope she's serious!!!
